Was that picture shot when WT and Malone faced off in the All-College tourney? If so, I was there for that game.

Classic pic, though. IMO, Wayman and Carl were two of the best power forwards ever, at any level.

I was at that game. I took my oldest son. We drove 100 miles to get there. After the game which OU won, we went down on the floor so he could get Wayman's autograph. There were 100's of people trying to get to Wayman and we couldn't even get close to him. We couldn't even get close to Choo Kennedy. My son was so disappointed. I looked in the stands and there were 2 Louisiana Tech players sitting in the stands by themselves just watching the place empty out. One of the players was Malone and the other was a tall center (can't remember his name). I told my son to go get their autographs because Malone was pretty good. Karl talked with him for a few minutes and then signed my son's book as Karl "The Mailman" Malone. I always had a soft spot for Malone after that. It was a heck of a consolation prize.

My son wore #23 back then. Not because of Michael, but because it was Wayman's number.

True story.

The sign in the background along the scorer's table looks to say "NCAA" with the SMU Mustang logo. Therefore, I believe this pic was taken when we beat Tech in overtime at Reunion Arena in Dallas in the regional semis.

Yea, that looks like the NCAA game.
I was also at the all college game when they faced off. Great game.
