About to watch nate carter's brother marquiess carter play. We have a coach cline and a jeff capel sighting. Also chris "chest bump" fergusen from the pokes is in the house. Will try to post a game update a little later.

Thanks guys. Good to see Capel is there. Lots of diamonds in the rough are discovered in Hutch.

I like it; waiting for updates on this can fill some time until the tourney tips off. Thanks soonersam.

carter has been really passive so far about midway through the half. Only has one bucket on a runner, also shaky on defense. Carters team does have an interesting and agressive 7 footer from nigeria who is currently a freshman

Does he look like a legit point or is he a combo guard type?

I would say point guard, that is what he has been running all game. Pass first, only has 5 points at the half. Havent seen him shoot in game yet, but has good form. Quickness might be an issue with him on defense.

The second half just started and that link above works. Nice driving layup by Carter.

The 7-footer (Orupke) is going to Wichita St. next season and will have 3 years left. He sat out last year with a knee injury. Pretty raw offensively.

Thanks for the report, Sam!

Salt City, thanks for posting the link! I'm watching the game now.

Carter is good at getting into the lane and getting fouled. Then he shoots 85 percent from the line.

One announcer just talking about Carter said "Going to be a Sooner next year." And the other guy said "Well, they hope so." He was also apparently a preseason first-team Juco All-American.

I heard that, too, so there must be some chatter about OU's interest in Carter. Like you said, he's good at driving inside and drawing fouls. Now with 13 points after making two more throws.

If he comes to OU will he get much playing time? Being the backup for TMG I would imagine you would only be seeing maybe 10 minutes a game for the next 3 years...?

Obviously haven't seen him play...but have to think it he would be challenging for minutes as the off-guard as well. We could use another distributor.

If he plays defense he better get playing time...

I dont think there is any doubt he will be way better on defense then tmg...this dude is listed at 6'4 so he will also be a better rebounder...are you saying you want him to play over tmg? cause I dont think tmg will ever be a great defender

OU could really use another perimeter defender. I know it's risky to rely on freshman, but isn't Taylor known as a lock-down defender potentially? Get Aziz too and the D should automatically be upgraded.
