Hit some shots, made some free throws, had a couple big steals, definitely a game to start regaining his confidence. Keep working Isaiah, the best is yet to come.

Yep. Missed first 4 but didn't hide and made 4 of next 7.

A step in the right direction. He only has two miles to go.

He's a friggin senior...he's a liability right now. I almost feel better with Walker in the game.

Dude's got ability, but just doesn't make great decisions and now his shot has gone in the tank.

This might be the dumbest thing I've read on here. He's by far our best perimiter defender by a long stretch, he's the best distributor, best at pushing the offense, and a great rebounding guard. The only thing he hasn't done wel lately is shoot the ball.

Did he steal your girl? Because that's the only way I can rationalize what you are saying.

Many people simply don't understand basketball or even competitive sports. They see a guy score 29 and give up 30 and think they watched that guy have a good game.

I'll take 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals from a PG while only committing 3 turnovers in an offense where OU pushes the ball in transition. Of the 3 turnovers, the first was a pass to Woodard where Jordan was kind of stumbling and fumbled it out of bounds, the second one was on Isaiah where he made a bad pass and the defender read it, and the final one was where he stepped on the line as he began a drive.

I don't have a complaint about Cousins' play last night.

Take a lap.

Some posters said the same thing about Walker after Cousins poor shooting performance in the first half of the ISU game. Isaiah came out on fire in the second half and led OU to an important win at home. IMO we lose that game if not for him.

Walker has been a real asset this season. He's playing so much better than last year. But, better than Cousins? Not by a long shot. It's easy to forget that Dinijyl can be turnover prone when he tries to do too many things on his own. Case in point, the TO he had late in the second half when he tried to drive the baseline and stepped out of bounds. He has almost as many turnovers (15) as assists (17) this season.

Don't get me wrong, I like Walker and what he brings to the floor. He's just not a better choice than Cousins. Don't forget that Isaiah is also a much better defender. He does need to make better decisions sometimes. But, given a choice between him and anyone else on our roster right now, I would take Isaiah every single time.

I realize his potential and like him as a player, but he needs to step up. AS A SENIOR, I'm not going to make excuses for him. Everyone is sugarcoating what he did last night for some reason by using some jaded stats. He was bad last night for the majority of the game. He's on a three game slump right now and he needs to be really good for this team to reach it's potential.

One good thing he did last night was make a few clutch FTs.

No one that I'm aware of is saying he doesn't need to make better decisions sometimes and improve his shooting from the perimeter. That's a given. And, based on what was said in the article someone posted yesterday about him sleeping on a sofa at the practice facility, he knows that too.

If there was a better option on our roster, I might agree that LK needs to give someone else a chance. But, IMHO, that is not the case. Walker had his shot at playing the point last season and he couldn't get the job done. He's playing better this season, but almost entirely at the two.

My money is on Isaiah Cousins. He's one of the reasons OU is 14-1 and ranked #2 right now. We need him to be better going forward ( the player we saw in the first twelve games if you will). But that doesn't change the fact that he is by far our best option.

I agree he's a major reason for our early success...I'd disagree that he's "by far our best option" when he plays like the old Isaiah. I'm not advocating his benching...just when he's having a game where it's OBVIOUS he's back to old Isaiah, we give Walker a little more run.

Buddy had 10 turnovers. Those probably led to 15 or 20 OSU points. You ripping him? No. Cousins has been struggling, yes. But he finally has a decent game and you rip him further,

What exactly is it that Walker has done the last few games that impresses you so much? Don't get me wrong, I think Walker is good in his role, but he was 1-3 for three points last night, had two points and three turnovers in limited minutes vs. K-State, and was 1-5 vs. KU. Additionally, he doesn't rebound as well as Cousins, doesn't assist or run the offense as well, and isn't anywhere close to as good on the defensive side of the ball. But sure, let's give him some more run because a guy who has started 90+ games hit a bit of a shooting slump.

Shooting isn't his only issue right now. I'll step out of this conversation.

Isaiah Cousins has worked his tail off for four years at OU and is a great teammate. He has scored over 1,000 points in his OU career, and come Monday when the rankings come out, he might possibly be the starting point guard on the team that is ranked #1 in the USA.

Sure, he is a senior in a shooting slump, but that happens in sports. Slumps happen to multi-million dollar professional baseball and basketball players all the time. Athletes keep working and eventually get themselves out of slumps like this. I am certain that Isaiah is working hard each and every day; before, during and after practice.

I understand and share the frustration when our guys don’t perform as well as we think they should. But last night they came out with a victory in a Bedlam road game against a Cowboy team that played inspired basketball. OU needed every point, rebound and steal that Isaiah produced. Good job Isaiah! Boomer Sooner!

Beat West Virginia!!
