Cow State fan claims verbal/physical abuse at LNC

just for fun...

I just remember when Texas played at OSU in basketball a number of years ago and the Texas guy ran out of bounds and accidentally hit the pregnant lady who was NOT EVEN WATCHING the game.

Her boyfriend kicked the Texas guy and the fracas started.

That's all I need to say about OSU and class.

With all due respect to the OSU fans who have been welcome on this board for years, the majority of Poke fans I'm familiar with wrote the book on classless behavior. Try visiting the OSU boards sometime and you'll see what I mean. The hatred and abuse runs deep on their boards anytime OU is a topic of conversation.

Funny, too, that an OSU fan would use a lame knock on people who live in mobile homes. Out of curiosity I Googled mobile home communities in Stillwater and Norman with the following results: Norman has 9; Stillwater is way out in front with 14. Good try, moron! Congratulations on winning the trailer park race.

Norman has more than twice the population also, lol.

There is no fanbase in US that has more of an inferiority complex and more conspiracy theorists than the Stoolwater gang. It's always someone else's fault when something happens there....mostly they blame OU for anything negative. Wish T Bone would up and move the whole campus, smell and all, to Amarillo or wherever the heII he lives!

Intriguing that he so clearly associates classy behavior (or the lack thereof) with the amount of money a person makes. As if one necessarily has anything to do with the other.

And this meme among aggie fans that OU fans are blue collar (again, resentment of the working class) and live in trailers is an odd one, too. There's a political school of thought that says you should accuse your opponent of precisely your own shortcomings and misdeeds.

Is that why democrats call republicans racist.

Have not been in Stillwater since the big fight during the wrestling match up there when Dr. Death was at OU. Got punched in the back of the head, that was it for me and the color orange. Screw those folks.

More on point, I will be going to the OU v. UT game next week in Austin. I will have extremely good seats through a friend and have a pass to the alumni club in Austin. I have a simple choice to make. I can wear an OU shirt, stand out and draw negative attention to myself or I can wear nutural colors and blend into the crowd. I will almost certianly chose to wear nutural colors, although in the past I have typically worn an OU shirt to games in Austin. The reason I will likely wear nutural colors is I personally believe it is the polite thing to do, especially given the fact I will be at the UT alumni club. If I chose to wear an OU shirt, I will expect UT fans to give me some grief just as I would expect a UT fan would get in Norman.

When you chose to make an issue of the fact you prefer the other team while seated in great seats and visiting the other team's alumni club, you are inviting negative attention. You should at least be mature enough to realize it will happen at all schools and not cry about after you pretty much intentioanlly encouraged the behavior.

Sorry but you're going to have to fill me in on just exactly what "nutural" is.

Could you at least hide an OU hat in your pocket to take out and wear once the game starts? It's always cool to see Sooner fans in attendance at away games in any sport. :fexas-logo:

Every year before Bedlam football there is always a thread about how badly people have been treated by opposing fans. When the game is in Norman that thread appears on OP.com, when the game is in Stillwater that thread appears on OF. Almost every time it is the exact same stories only with "gooner fans" instead of "sheephumpers" depending on where the game is played. I've been to probably 50 Bedlam football/basketball/baseball games and never seen any problems from either side, with the exception of that brawl at Bricktown Ballpark a year or 2 ago.

Anyone remember Ryno from the rivals oSu board?

He had a very similar story about being at a bedlam baseball game 7-8 years ago. He said he was being harassed by some OU fans, etc. and then even had pictures to prove it which he of course posted. What wasn't mentioned was that it was a predominantly oSu section [I had gotten my tickets from an oSu donor] and in fact, it was oSu fans that were taunting the guy and his girlfriend to the point of throwing things at him and getting unruly. The pictures made it look like the guy was being escorted out by security, instead, it was security just walking behind them after the abused couple said it just wasn't worth it and left.

I called him on it, and of course he denied the real incident, but there was just ONE problem: It was a crazy game where OU was down big, and there were these kids [9 or 10 years old] that were running up and down the stadium stairs screaming: "Gooner's Suck"....until OU came back and won the game and those same kids were crying. An honest oSu fan [or apparently one that didn't like Ryno] was also there and verified the whole story because he remembered being embarrassed about the kids and what he saw happen to the couple that left.

Point is, I don't believe 99% of these stories, and rarely are they accurately portrayed. I make this statement with one caveat: I would believe anything that I hear about abuse thrown by LSU fans prior to a Sugar Bowl game. I didn't make it down there when OU played them, but I was in NOLA for a wedding when they played Illinois, truly disturbing stuff.

This, vast majority of these stories are BS and the ones that are true the person was generally looking for some trouble. Been to almost every road venue in the Big XII for football plus Florida State...never had a problem. If you're a gracious guest, you will more than likely be treated well by the hosts. Save Baton Rouge of course.

Wear your OU gear, be respectful, talk to UT fans (light ribbing will be fine), don't be obnoxious during the game, etc. It will be fine...at least it has been in all my experiences on the road.

This reminds me - didn't Channel 4 in OKC try some alleged "investigative report" to see which fans behaved the worst towards the other in Bedlam? As I recall, that year when Drew Lavender and Co. were freshmen, KFOR did some sort of tactic of sending a staff person to Stillwater dressed as a Sooner, then did the same for the return game.

From what I remember from posts about it, the whole "investigation" was totally rigged to make OU fans look worse. KFOR's "plant" was sent to GIA to mingle with the Aggy blue-hairs, who weren't the trouble-making kind. But, the same guy went to the LNC in Aggy orange and mingled with the students and was very confrontational. So NATURALLY the OU fans were meaner that night because they responded to how jerky the guy was acting.

I never got to see this "report" on KFOR, obviously (we don't get that Channel 4 on Comcast in Albuquerque). But I really believe they could pull a stunt like that just to protect OSU's fan base from any sort of criticism. Of course, in the OKC media, our fan base is always fair game for criticism.

If anyone does remember that embarrassing episode from Channel 4, please post what happened.

I always love the stories that come out after rivalry games. Almost always 100% false, but always entertaining... especially when they contain easily identified lies.

OSU fans consistently tar and feather my grandfather every year we go to the GIA. It's happened ten plus times.

OSU's fanbase injured itself rushing over each other to get on the field after beating us Gooners in football. Nuff said.
