Well, Trump has chosen his path. He isn't going to offer unity at all, which he hasn't done this whole time. He is going with conflict. Will be interesting to see how this plays out, but he continues to lose supporters. The Lincoln Project, Republicans for Biden, and other conservative groups are doing a number on him. I was watching an interview with Brian Williams on NBC, and he was telling James Carville that the conservative groups against Trump are doing far better campaign ads than the democrats, in terms of effectiveness.

Some quotes from his South Dakota speech last night:

"Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values and indoctrinate our children."
-Donald Trump

"Make no mistake. This left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution."
-Donald Trump

"In our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate boardrooms, there is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras, and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted, and punished. It’s not going to happen to us."
-Donald Trump

"Against every law of society and nature, our children are taught in school to hate their own country"
-Donald Trump

"The radical view of American history is a web of lies — all perspective is removed, every virtue is obscured, every motive is twisted, every fact is distorted, and every flaw is magnified until the history is purged and the record is disfigured beyond all recognition."
-Donald Trump

"The radical ideology attacking our country advances under the banner of social justice. But in truth, it would demolish both justice and society. It would transform justice into an instrument of division and vengeance, and it would turn our free and inclusive society into a place of repression, domination, and exclusion."
-Donald Trump

" Their goal is not a better America, their goal is the end of America."
-Donald Trump

"we will not be tyrannized, we will not be demeaned, and we will not be intimidated by bad, evil people."
-Donald Trump

"Above all, our children, from every community, must be taught that to be American is to inherit the spirit of the most adventurous and confident people ever to walk the face of the Earth."
-Donald Trump

Is unity offered to anarchists in Europe? Anarchists are co-opting the BLM movement to the detriment of people of color for their own selfish goals. They are whores and it is up to you to decide if you elect to respect whores. A black leader in Portland recognized the obvious, perhaps your persona could fall in line and stop playing people.

Keep in mind Trump refers to all democrats has "radical do nothing democrats".... This is his game. A guy like Trump can't win on his own, he has to have an enemy and has to divide. He has basically lumped all political opponents into one category.

As for his disgusting speech, he isn't talking specifically about BLM. He says there is far-left "fascism" in corporate boardrooms, schools, the media, etc. He makes multiple references to what to teach the children in schools.

This was a dangerous speech.... it was radical. He is openly painting himself as a savior from what he calls an effort to "end America", by "evil people"... Also says children are being systemically "indoctrinated"... He isn't saying BLM is indoctrinating children. He is saying it is systemic in our society. Schools, TV, media, PEOPLE, political parties, etc. It's everyone but him, or, bare minimum, everyone but conservatives.

This is nuts. We have never seen anything like this. This is tyrant speech.

Even his comments on American history bother me.... He is advocating for a tale of American history that always and forever paints us the hero. They aren't happy that today, in the information age (internet) people read things, study more, are more educated, etc and discover things about history. There is always another perspective.

We have black-eyes... Slavery is a black eye. Systemic racism is a black eye. How gays were treated is a black eye. It took Matthew Shepherd to turn that around. Matthew Shepherd is to gays in America what George Floyd perhaps is to racial tension in America.

Vietnam was a black-eye..... the second Iraq War is a black-eye. Overthrowing the democratically elected government in Iran to allow British and American oil companies to exploit their wealth is a black eye that we are still dealing with this to this day.

There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that we, perhaps, did something wrong. It is important to understand historical context, perspective, multiple views, etc. But there is nothing wrong with that knowledge.

End of day, it was a horrible speech. I can't recall anything like it from a US President. Can you?

You literally say that after every speech he gives. I really doubt each speech he gives is the most horrible speech ever given by a US President.

It really was the most insanely divisive speech I've ever heard, but what was striking was the delivery. He delivered it in a slurring monotone of mispronounced words he could barely read from TelePrompter. He sounded like my car's Navigation got drunk. He really looked and sounded like a defeated person.

He's getting more desperate.... he's backed into a corner. His rhetoric continues to get worse.

Some of you guys are so pathetic and ignorant.

You don’t unify the mob. You don’t acquiesce to rioters, rapists, and violent criminals. You guys would whine about anything he says

You called us pathetic and ignorant and then followed that up with an off-the-rails ridiculous comment that lumped in half the population with 0.00001% of the country that is causing problems during legitimate rallies and protests. By the way, I still haven't seen any credible evidence of rape happening during the protests.

Seriously, it was an insane speech, especially for the 4th of July. Nothing uplifting or inspiring, just a mashup of divisive rhetoric and bravado delivered to keep his most frothing-at-the-mouth supporters fired up, and he just mailed it in. Does he even have the ability to be magnanimous?

Calling that his worst speech is fighting hyperbole with hyperbole. He's had worse.

This is total BS.

Also, sexual assaults and rapes were reported in the Seattle BLM zone.

The speech was insane, especially when you consider the setting.

There were "reports" so you decided to lump half the country in with alleged rapists? Ok dude.

One should know better than to argue with the "king of the world." Underworld that is. Truth whores are truth whores for they are a childish, self absorbed, inwardly seeking bunch.

Now you're calling us "truth whores." Hahaha, I might be offended if it didn't come from the king of word salad.
