Darrell Williams charged with rape

Dont even know how to properly respond to this thread, wow.

At least the pokes got 18 points out of him on Saturday. Surely they had no idea he would be charged with rape on Monday....

Horrible!

I agree with IntenseDefense. They don't ask him and know what really happened? I guess he can lie but if you are under investigation, they maybe you shouldn't be playing.

Can't wait to see Travis Ford and OSU's response.

There should be an investigation whether or not there was some coordination between the Payne Co DA and OSU Athletics on the timing of this announcement.

What is it with OSU and rapists anyway?

If he were an OU athlete and his coach allowed him to play for almost two months, I would call for people to lose their jobs and for this institution to remember what is important.

Playing college athletics is a privilege, not a right. Whether or not the athlete actually committed the crime, he was obviously there when something happened. He was obviously involved with other individuals who are questionable. That is not the conduct I want from OU scholarship athletes.

He should not have been playing. Period. And to me, that says a lot about OSU administration and their coaches. If OU ever does something like this, I would be furious.

Nothing better to do in Stoolwater? Something needs to be done!

I have no idea. It's very bizarre.

Two years ago, Chris Collins led the team in tackles against Texas in Stillwater on Saturday and then pled GUILTY to raping a minor on Monday morning....

orangepower is blowing up... how they wont stand for that... Im sure they are glad he played saturday!

Agreed, the timing is very peculiar.

It's a tricky issue on whether not Williams should have been playing during the investigation, not sure which way I lean. University of Washington is dealing with this right now with one of their players...luckily for them, the athlete's name has not been released to the media.

Yikes.. they may have to burn the Cobbins redshirt now. Williams had 15 points and 13 rebounds against Mizzou, and 18 points and 12 rebounds over OU the other day. Big loss for them.

But more importantly, I hope that some girl wasnt raped. I don't know anything about what happened, I just hope it didnt happen. Either way, he is probably done at OSU.

Cases happen all the time where people are not charged. Those people are allowed to live their regular life. I don't think it would be right to suspend him before there are any charges are brought...

Now that he is officially charged I would suspend him until the matter is resolved. Obviously if he's found to have done this then it won't matter what his status is with OSU or the basketball program. He'll likely be prison.

The case was brought to the DA in December. The DA rejected it. Stillwater PD brought the case back and the DA filed charges. It seems under that course of events that a suspension wouldn't be warranted until now.

You can't compare normal people to scholarship athletes. That athlete was getting a free college education to represent a university by competing in athletics, which is a privilege, not a right.

OSU had to have done their own investigation into the facts and been kept aware of the DA's investigation. They knew whether the DA was going to press charges.

The DA did not reject the case last month. He asked for more information.

Normally, when a player is under investigation, the coach and athletic department officials are made aware. I would bet Ford and the AD knew about this but played him anyway.

Switzer knew Thompson was under investigation and actually told him forcing the FBI to cut short their investigation.

I have to believe Ford knew this was happening. Sad...very sad.

Of course OSU and Ford knew and it's stupidity to argue otherwise.

if this was an OU guy osu fans heck any fans for this matter would have a piss fit if he was playing
