Darrell Williams charged with rape

Did you have a problem with Chris Collins playing?

Of course not. Aggy is all about beating OU at any cost.

I'm sure the Stillwater PD and DA knew the timing and decided to wait until the next business day after the bedlam game before pressing charges.

Do you blame them? They had to be worried that T. Boone would have their jobs if they did otherwise.....

The big conspiracy theory over the last couple of months is that the new Payne County DA is an OU fan/grad.

NOT NOT NOT saying that's why Williams got charged.

Get's a big 'ruh-roh' from me though!

This I would have a problem with if true. However, I just can't see the logic behind holding a player out for almost two months due to an accusation. Once charges come forth (or they are known to be imminent) then you pull the plug.

The only reason I posted that is to simply say that I don't think you suspend someone on an accusation.

I agree with you, for the most part, Dignon. No suspension should EVER be handed out for an accusation. I have no problem with Williams playing unless he's been officially charged with something.

On the other hand, is there not something peculiar about charges being filed the Monday after a huge game against your biggest rival? Maybe it was a wild coincidence, but it's pretty useful timing as far as OSU is concerned.

When Chris Collins was recruited to OSU. I said it was a big risk and that I wouldn't have done it. When he came to OSU that case was 2 or 3 years old. I think a lot of people like myself assumed that Collins would have been found innocent given how much time had passed. There were all kinds of articles on that case. I think I read every one of them. In fact I probably discussed his case with many of you on various message boards.

Making that assumption I didn't care that Collins playing. A bad assumption on my part and when Collins plead guilty after all that time, it was embarrassing.

Given that he had formal charges filed and pending. He should not have played.

So, what are you saying? And why are you saying it?

God, I hate this "just throwing this out there to murky the waters, but that doesn't mean I actually believe it!" crap.

So the reason I brought up Balogun is because we could have played him and not feared the consequences. OSU, I am sure, knew the truth. There were no consequences for playing him. So why would they not?

You still haven't answered my question. Where do they get all these criminals?

I'm saying that I've heard the new DA in Payne County is an OU fan/grad, which would refute the last few posts about the Payne County DA waiting a few weeks to charge Williams so OSU had a better chance of winning Bedlam.

What I'm NOT saying is that because the new DA is (reportedly) OU slanted, is why Williams was charged.

God, I hate this, "I have trouble comprehending simple posts, in particular when the post made by the great, genius HoHum was quoting a post which made it even clearer what the handsome HoHum was referencing, so I jump to conclusions" crap.

I disagree.

Had he been accused of stealing a laptop or something along that level, then I agree, let him play until formal charges are filed.

However, when the charge is as serious and grotesque as rape, then he should be suspended until he is proven innocent. Considering this happened in December he could either redshirt or apply for a hardship from the NCAA. Who cares if he loses a year of eligibility for accusations like this because he shouldn't have put himself in that position anyway.

Totally agree.

What happened with the whole Pilgrim situation? Did he miss time or was his during the offseason?

Also was the third student with the weed Moses or Sidorakis?

Charges were dropped, and then he was suspended for some reason (related or not, I don't know) during the offseason. Didn't practice all fall and didn't play in the two exhibition games and MAYBE the first game of the year, don't remember.

Not enough evidence?

It seems to me he is suggesting that the DA would trash a person's life so that his university could beat OSU in sports. Of course, the guy filed charges after the game, not before. It is terrible thing to say and I would expect someone to not make such a statement without some basis to support it but that is not how life works on the internet.

The guy could be (and should be) disbarred if he actually filed rape charges against an OSU athlete simply because the DA went to OU. I highly doubt any significant percentage of District Attorneys or assistant district attorneys would ever file charges against a person based on college sports.

Is this about my post?

Because, I'm not suggesting that.

It was in the off season. He was suspended from all team activities and almost booted for an array of problems dating back to last year. No idea why there were not any charges filed.
