DeAndre Jordan....

I haven't heard anything about the stalking claims that you made above, but they could be true I guess....I don't know. Do you have a link?

I'm a big Mavs fan and sometimes, I don't like Cuban and the way that he conducts himself. But calling him an idiot is asinine....the guy is an exceptionally gifted businessman and is worth over $3 billiion. He is as far from an "idiot".

Brousard reported Cuban was texting people in Houston for DJs address. Cuban himself confirmed in one of his dorky CyberDust posts that when he heard DJ thought he had made a mistake he flew to Houston, got a room at the Galleria, when DJ didn't answer his calls or texts, he went to his gated community and went in when the gate opened. He then went to DJs front door and knocked. When nobody answered he texted DJ and told him he was outside his house. This all comes straight from Cuban. That's when Blake texted Cuban from DJs phone that he was on a date. That's stalking period. That type of clown behavior deserves to be mocked. He gets what he deserves.

As for him being some great businessman, he's a hustler, a used car salesman. He hustled Yahoo into paying $5 billion in stock for broadcast.com that was bleeding cash and only had $20 million in revenues when Yahoo stock was $300 at the height of .com hysteria. He then took a big chunk of the cash and bought the Mavericks inheriting Dirk, Nash, Finley and a new arena. Good for him.

But let's not confuse lucky timing with consistent business acumen. He's not respected as pretty much every deal he's been involved in since has been a complete bust which is why he's on Shark Tank playing a venture capitalist instead of being a successful one in real life. If you watch Silicon Valley on HBO they even have a character making fun of him. This dorky maniac whose sole claim to fame is "putting radio on the Internet 20 years ago". lol

He hustled DJ who then came to his senses. He then stalked him and got clowned which he deserved.

Did anyone at Yahoo lose their job over broadcast.com? That was a horrible acquisition.

an article on fortune.com listing the 5 worst internet acquisitions of all time says all the executives that organized the deal were fired.

As terrible as the transaction was since it was an all stock deal that Yahoo paid with their inflated $300 stock the real losers were the poor investors who were buying yahoo stock at $300. It dropped all the way to $8 in the crash.

Another interesting thing is that Cuban was not allowed to sell his stock for a certain time per the terms of the deal. He got around the terms by guaranteeing his stock to Goldman Sachs, who shorted the stock and loaned him the proceeds for a fee. When his lockup expired he then tendered his stock to Goldman to cover their short position.

Cuban did not earn his billion, he generated it from selling worthless stock at $300 to unwitting suckers. The way he got around his lockup and sold the stock via Goldman Sachs is now illegal.

Here's a quote from another article citing Rivers feelings on Jordan's agents (Fegan and Akana). Fegan is kind of the senior agent and Akana is the junior one.

"Jordan didn't return any calls or texts from Cuban. He didn't invite his agents inside the house until after 10 p.m. By then Fegan (agent) had given up. He left around 9 to catch a flight back to L.A. Akana stayed and ended up going inside the house to witness Jordan signing the contract.

Akana (agent) and Rivers had some heated words for each other when he entered the house. Akana felt the whole thing had been unethical. Rivers felt Fegan and Akana were representing Cuban more than their client. Akana did stay though. After Jordan signed a four-year contract to remain with the Clippers, another toast was organized. This time they drank champagne and white wine."
And Fegan is also Austin Rivers' agent. Best soap opera of the summer.

this is one of the funniest things I have read ...

he had a very good idea and created a company that someone thought was worth billions of dollars ... but he didn't "earn" his money?

Ok ..... and what he did with goldman was very very smart and completely legal at the time ..
