Deb Patterson Out at KSU

I've been wanting to read that article again. I wonder if Voepel would email it out or post it on her blog if someone requested.

I seem to remember Voepel mentioned that she had a good relationship with Patterson, before the article was written. Even though writing the article would most likely change their relationship, Voepel knew it had to be written.

For those of you who never got the chance to read it, that should give you an idea of just how unflattering it was for Patterson.

It discussed the mandatory chapel meetings. It basically publicly outed (or at least strongly hinted at) Deb Patterson's special relationship with Kamie Etheridge. There were interviews with mistreated team managers. Also, the team managers were expected to care for the couple's dogs while they were away.

It was all so crazy. I'd love to read over it again.

You have a good memory because a lot of what you mentioned is in the article. I'm going to search some more on google tomorrow. I know I copied and pasted the article to the OU women's board at the time which I think was on OUInsider.

Thanks for posting. I admittedly didn't really pay attention to KSU's "glory years" very much. However, I do remember that their cheerleaders would do some pretty crazy pyramids during Big 12 tourney timeouts... like, one guy holding several people and then spinning in circles or something crazy like that

Their glory years weren't very glorious. They always seemed to flame out pretty quickly in the tourney even with that loaded team of Ohlde, Wecker, et. al,.
