Depaul @ OKlahoma

I hope so. The question arises, however, if this was an aberration.

This game shows we can definitely play much better than we have so far this season. The question is - will we?

Simpson had her best game ever for us, but she still wasn't that effective and she missed a couple of chip shots. But what I liked was she tried very hard, I thought.

Seemed like we passed the ball better, more crisply and accurately, at all spots on the floor tonight and that we reversed the ball swiftly (not something we have done in years).

Another thing, Simpson, Wellington and Williams played the entire game.

Sherri only subbed her guards. My guess is EJ's significant playing time is over unless Simpson is in foul trouble.

I think some of this is fool's gold......

A team gets up by 30......they're going to let up.

How many conference games does this team win???

Three things we needed to do 1) control their three point game 2) reduce turnovers and 3) hit free shots. We did all three but were done in by our main weakness. The middle. Too many offensive rebounds and worse still, putbacks. Bless Mandy's hustling heart but she will be often facing bigger inside players and most often quicker players.

This one is on recruiting. We lost Mulkey two years ago and have not secured a center who can cope with the bigger quicker players.

We did give up some back doors and give and go baskets but that is to be expected when you are challenging the three point shooters. Bigger problem is the fast break baskets they got after we scored.

Lack of depth hurt as well. We had some opportunities in the 4th quarter but were unable to capitalize. Probably at least partially to fatigue. We really need to secure more relief for Simpson and Robertson. Not good for them to have to play the whole game.

Good to see Pellington emerge again. She must sleep with sugar plums in hear head when DePaul is coming to town. Their wide open game is ideal for her style of play. Also good to see she and Maddie connect so well and often. A good night of progress for Maddie. She should have a better idea what she can do at this level after today's game.

Kudos to Robertson. Faced with a box and one she didn't try to do too much and turned in a 19 point game. Also good to see her score on other than the treys. Watched to see if anyone tried to screen to get her open but the one occasion I observed resulted in an offensive foul by Simpson. May have missed some.

Some progress made. Still a fun team to watch.
