Devion Harmon out with COVID

Full disclosure. I’m a surgeon. I’m not an infectious disease doctor or intensivist. I don’t claim to be Dr. Fauci. That said, I do operate on COVID positive patients from time to time and I find it frustrating when people don’t adhere to the guidance.

You're right; you're not Fauci. You're just playing him on this board.

I just don’t quite understand why we would even be discussing how Harmon contracted it on this board. Regardless of who is a doctor and who isn’t, wouldn’t we have to have fairly specific knowledge of his comings and going’s to even begin to decipher the source? Just seems like a pointless exercise to me.

Thanks doc. Because as we all have learned over the past year, only careless people get Covid. It’s not even remotely possible he got it by being exposed to Jalen Wilson during the KU game or some other way that doesn’t involve carelessness.

+1

I don't see what the big deal is here. He was photographed without a mask in a public place. I almost guarantee that is against the Team's policy. And to do so right before the Dance, that is just silly. It doesn't matter where he actually contracted the virus, that was a stupid risk to take, given what was/is on the line.

And that is spoken from someone that didn't wear a mask at the casino last Friday, so I'm not mask nazi.

I feel bad for him because he’s a good player and this is the second consecutive tournament he’s missing due to COVID, but I’m sure carelessness played a role in his acquisition of the virus.

Stupid post of the decade

I heard one of the hosts of the Morning Animal make a snide comment this morning about this issue. He said, "Austin Reaves couldn't be more thrilled about having Harmon out for the game. One less person he has to pass to!"

I thought Reaves was team leader in assists?

Well said.

yup...

big loss for us. D has had a great season, love the improvement....i can see why Bienemy left. love the way D gets to the rim when we need a hoop. love the way he opens games with energy.

would have liked to see him take it the rim a lot more in the last minutes of games, recently.

but, i agree, dumb move to skip Covid protocol week before the NCAA. or ever.

What I have seen, people being nonchalant about COVID are catching it at a higher rate. It doesn't take a doctor to understand that. I am mad about Harmon not wearing a mask during a hair cut if that is the case (maybe he just took it off for a quick photo 6 feet from others IDK), because I really want to blame this on Kansas.

We don't have enough information to start shaming him. It's a bad look for our fanbase to act otherwise.

The mask doesn’t protect him. It protects others from him.
