Disappointed

Re: Dissapointed

You are disappointed just like the rest of rest but giving up on this team two games into the season because of "One" loss? You were never a true OU basketball fan to start with. Look at Kansas, they got their butts handed to them and I will bet a $100 bill that their fans are disappointed but their butts will be in the seats the next home game.

Re: Dissapointed

It was certainly a missed opportunity. Dissapointed is the right word. BUT, this team has all the pieces to be great imo. I think we will rebound and learn from it.

Basketball is not like football (even with the new playoff) in that you can have these "learning opportunities" througout the season and still acheive all your seeding goals in the dance. :OU-logo:

That is ridiculous. This is a NCAA tournament team. If you can't see the potential this team has your blind. The first half they looked like a top 10 team and you bet this was disappointing but come on. They have a ton of weapons but they need to find there identity. Tashawn is a beast but there are a bunch of guys that need to figure out how to play together when the game gets tough. Creighton has a good ball club and that was a tough environment to play in. This team has the guts and attitude to take this loss and be better the next time.

Re: Dissapointed

wow! how many divorces have you been through then?! since you give up that easy.

I am extremely dissapointed too...but I try to look at it this way....we can all see what we are capable of doing. In the past, we would never had been good enough to get up 18 points on someone like that on the road. We just have to learn to not take off plays and limit the silly, ridiculous turnovers that we had. we had 12 TO's last night and I bet at least 6 of those were totally unforced and on us. That's possibly 6-12 points we missed out on.

We have actually been up by double digits and lost several times under Lon. I am mostly disappointed as everyone keeps saying this is a loss we can learn from. I am tired of having losses we can learn from. We returned 4 of 5 starters. We should not need a loss to learn from. I went into the game worried that we would win. So the loss was not the thing that has bothered me the most. Its the up 18 points and loose. There seems to be this history with early losses for Lon's team and even some of the game day management decisions. Do they get better as season goes on yes. But I don't get having an 18 point lead and losing and its just a loss to learn from. We don't need those especially with our stretch coming up.

And no I am not giving up, as I will still watch and attend games. I do admit my interest has declined due to this loss. But when the next game comes I will probably be there watching in the stands.

You didn't answer the question...how many divorces?

None.

So what do you think our non conference record will be after this loss? I know one loss should not make that big a difference and in the long run probably won't, But if we play like we did in that game, meaning not playing all 40 minutes, I could see 4 losses.

Possible games with an L
3 games in Bahamas Although if we get the L against UCLA we could win the next 2
Missouri
Washington.

Try looking at it this way and it might make you feel better. There are three seasons in basketball: Non-conference games, conference games and post season play. We're 1-1 in the non-conference. We're undefeated in the two seasons that lie ahead. :)

While I'm just as disappointed as you with last night's loss, there is still a lot of basketball left in our season. The only thing the loss to Creighton will do is drop OU out of the polls. To be honest, that might be a good thing, because it will make our players hungrier to get back there again.

You're absolutely right in that OU has been guilty of blowing some big first half leads the last couple of years. No way we should have allowed an 18 point deficit to be erased by Creighton and lose by 2 last night! Unfortunately, we have been there before. It's a troubling trend that needs to stop.

Our kids play hard when they're down. They have the tendency to try and coast to a win when they get a big lead, instead of working harder to build on it. Somebody on this team needs to develop a killer instinct and get in people's faces when they slough off on defense. Romero did it two years ago, but I haven't seen it since he left. Our defense was the best I have seen in years in the first half. It was equally as bad in the second half. Very troubling indeed!
