Okay. Venting over now. Feel bad for her and Hook if these are indeed season breakers. The ladys will pull together as usual. Vegas will have a monster year and some of the freshman will have a chance to play some of Maddie and maybe Hooks minutes depending on her situation. I do not mean to overlook the rest of our ladies and can not wait to cheer for them but Maddie quickly became a favorite of mine in those 6 games last year. This news sucks.

I kind of agree. But, I want to give everyone else a chance.
 
Oklahoman article says Morgan isn't expected to miss much time. Small silver lining.
 
Not good. However I am sure the NCAA will grant manning a 6th year if she wishes to pursue it. It sucks seeing a kid with the potential to be a dominant player to have an injury 2 years in a row. Just think how much better mentally she will be when she does get to play.

Morgan's situation sucks too. However I believe that this will not fully hinder her game by the time season gets flowing.

Let's just hope this is the worst of it.
 
Last year I attempted to tote up the ACLs and it seemed to me that the vast majority have been incurred in Oct, Nov, and Dec. Two questions. First, why? Second, why don't they have them all wear braces on both knees until January?
 
That is a real bummer for Maddie. Hopefully she will have another successful surgery and rehab goes well.

Most doctors would tell you that braces don't prevent injuries.
 
Many players don't brace after surgery. It tends to be on a case-to-case basis. Some doctors actually think they can actually be more beneficial mentally than physically. Tough tough tough to see this happen. Any player who has gone through this would say they wouldn't wish it on their worst enemy. We just have to pray that everything goes well and Maddie can come back to playing 100% next season.

As excited as we all were to see Maddie this season, we weren't picked to finish on top solely because of her. This team is deep, and we still have a great opportunity to perform well this season.

Good post! I agree that we are in a much better position to continue on without Maddie this year than we were last year. Just hope she comes back in great shape next year and also hope everyone else stays healthy.
 
What about Hook? Have not seen anything about what her problem is.

I was just venting. I typed that post directly after hearing the news. We are still super deep at the moment and the optimist in me has returned. I am excited to see what we do now moving forward. Sucks though. I do not normally have favorites as far as Sooners go. Once they put on an OU uniform I am a fan. However, Maddie was the person I was most excited to see this year.
 
Norman Transcript article today said they did not yet have a return date for Morgan but that her return would be measured in days not weeks. Sounds like she should be back for the Stetson opener on 11/8.

I feel the same for Morgan, but at least she knows she can come back by conference.

Just unfathomable what our girls have gone through the last few years.

Say a little prayer for Maddie and I guess it's good we signed all those guards after all.

I really don't want to talk to much about this. I just want to spend my time sending Maddie, Morgan and the whole team some good karma.
