Doolittle Appreciation

my favorite play from him on saturday was when he stepped through their double missed the shot but then quickly got his own rebound and scored while fouled. It was my favorite play because it was clear he wanted it more than the defenders. And that wasn't the only play like that. In the past 2 games especially he has made numerous tough shots down the stretch. I hope to see more of that desire from him, who i agree is first team conference worthy, and others.

100%

He had a similar play against T Tech. He missed a shot and just outworked 2 or 3 defenders and took the rebound..... I love when he's locked in.

Doo hasn't always been my favorite player, but his improvement over the last four years in undeniable. When coach finally starting playing Brady at the 5 and let Doo roam around, he sprouted. I think he will have a great pro career.

Tough way to end career but maybe fitting

Was tonight his last game? And in what way was it fitting? Guy has been our best player the past two years and played a typically good game tonight. No excuse for missing both free throws but to my knowledge, he hasn’t exactly made a habit of choking. I know a lot of people think he should put up 40 points and 20 boards a night and never miss a shot, but not many guys do that, and the ones who don’t aren’t playing college basketball.

I can't count the numerous posts that demanded he put up 40 pts and 20 boards a night. They're infinite. This board is so demanding..

Doo,

Thanks for everything. You are a great player. Sorry this COVID-19 epidemic robbed you of another post-season.

Good luck in your professional endeavors.

Agree. Feel awful for every college athlete, but especially seniors -- particularly those on teams that were heading to the postseason. Would suck to have played your last game without even knowing it. At least our final game of the season was memorable (and winning) one.

Yep. It stinks for all of us, but especially for these young athletes who work so hard. Here's wishing Doo all the best going forward. He's been a lot of fun to cheer for.

Doo is a baller! Going to miss that silky mid range! Good luck in the pros!

Doo will be missed for sure.

BTW, I was watching a bit on ESPN with Reece Davis, and they were talking about the NCAA granting some kind of waiver for seniors, allowing for grad school or something, so they wouldn't lose their final year. But he also acknowledged what a difficulty that could cause with scholarship limits, Title IX, etc.

It would be great if they could do something, but highly, highly unlikely.

Got to really feel for teams like Dayton or San Diego St that had once in a lifetime seasons and a chance to win it all.

They have the power to grant a 1 year special waiver. They could allow those seniors to play next year with an exemption that doesn’t affect scholarship limits, title IX, etc. Will they do that? IDK, because the NCAA is stupid and corrupt. However, they could very easily if they so choose.

Thank you Doo, exceeded just about everybody’s expectations & was a joy to watch.
