Doolittle is a very talent player. I am glad he is a sooner and I am a fan.

However, he does not seem to play well with Trae Young. If you can't play well with Trae Young, you won't help OU win games. Young is not just the best p layer on OU, he is the best player in the country. Everyone on the team needs to play with him. I think missing all the practice really hurt Doolittle. I can hardly think of a single time Young has an assist from passing to Doolittle.

Doolittle seems to hold the ball and force things way too much. Catch shoot or drive. If it is not there pass and do it in seconds if not 1 second.

Only guy who boxes out consistently

What is OU record playing with Doolittle? Especially after he has gotten more PT.

He is a good basketball team but the team has not been improved by his return. Even if you disagree with this statement, you cannot disagree about the record.

I do think Doolittle rebounds well. I don't know that I agree he is the only player boxing out but he is a strong rebounder from the 3 / 4 position.

One other point, Manec is out rebounding him in Big XII play. He has more minutes but I think (I did not do it) if you adjust for minutes he is still outrebounding Doolittle.

Manec runs the floor better. Manec shoots threes better. Manec does need to convert at the rim better. Doolittle plays stronger but I suspect that will change for Manec. He will get stronger.

Doolittle was supposed to be a huge boost and he has not. He is the one that didn't make grades. I might bench him if I were Lon. I wouldn't do it because I don't see potential in him, I would consider him because chemistry is worse.

I cringe every time he puts the ball on the floor. Dribbling is not a strength.

team basketball is not his strength this season. I personally think he is jealous of Trae Young. I would be if I were on Trae's team. But ultimately, you have to recognize your talent level and role.

I don’t think he’s jealous at all. He is just really rusty and has no confidence whatsoever. He has logged more time with Trae than anyone else on the team and they are supposedly good friends. It’s been a lost season for him unfortunately. Really hope he can get it going again. The shortcomings of this season so far fall on his and mcgustys shoulders imo. They were supposed to be our second and third best players. Neither is even in the top 5 right now.

No, Doolittle 9.4/40 min, Manek 8.8/40.

But boxing out isn’t just about securing the board, it’s about preventing the easy putback.

Manek's OR rate is higher. Doolittle's DR rate is higher.

Doolittle can play defense and rebound.. that is it! The dude has no touch around the basket and always over dribbles. Watch him shoot lay ups or put backs and even when the ball goes in it looks ugly.

yeah, I just see a kid that seems very unsure/uncomfortable with the ball. Not smooth at all...it's like the kid that hasn't played basketball before, which is totally crazy. I just don't get it.

Hopefully he can get comfortable and fill a niche.

I hope you are right and I am wrong. I just don't see joy on his face when he plays and I perceive him to force things when he gets the ball. I have not gone into any in depth analysis.

Regardless, I want to be clear, I think Doolittle is a talented player and I am glad he is a sooner.

He shot 80 FT% and 40 3PT% last year

He has ability

I agree his put-back/short-range game is not strong

The opposite. He wasn’t forcing anything for 2 months or doing anything offensively except pass. Kruger had to urge him to try and be more aggressive.

Doolittle takes 5.6 FGA/40 minutes

Which means he shoots less than every player on the team, including the walk-ons
