Doolittle

Doolittle is going through what the rest of the team went through in November and December - learning to how to play with a PG like Trae. He'll adjust just as everyone else has.

Could OU play both Manic and Doolittle at the same time? Maybe he go small with Manx at center or big with one of them at the three. It seems like it would be difficult to play them together for extended minutes.

I recall Doolittle playing at KU last year hitting tough jumpers and getting tough rebounds. I want to invest in getting that guy back before the NCAA tourney. Plenty of games before then to keep working him in. He will keep improving and as he does he will start getting more time.

Doolittle has great rapport with Trae from their high school and aau days. He will be a completely different player in a month or so. Insane depth on this team!

Yes. Of course. They did so against OSU. It's going to happen more and more as the season goes along.

The game is changing. Positions matter less and less and the notion that Manek & Doolittle can't be on the court at the same time because they play the same "position" is disappearing from the game.

Kruger is going to want his best 5 players on the court as often as possible and, more and more, that will mean playing them together.

Wow what a big lineup Odoms at the 2, Doolittle at the 3, Manek and Muni.

Noticed in early warm ups Doolittle with the guard group along with Odoms.

Hit his first three of the season, hit four free throws in OT, scored nine points, had three rebounds and two assists. A very nice game for KD.

Was it only a special case TCU match up to have Odoms at the 2 with Doolittle at the 3 or will that be a regular lineup Lon throws at teams?

He likes this big strong lineup at times. You’ll see it more as Doolittle gets more time

Didn't TCU play most of the game with two point guards????? Odomes better defense on the point guards??

If you look at minutes played Doolittle played 7 minutes against NW State, 7 against Northwestern, 0 against TCU in Fort Worth, 10 against OSU, 14 against WVU, 21 against Tech and 22 against TCU in Norman.

Comparing his first 4 games back to his last 3 and his minutes are up an average of 13.5 minutes to 19/g. Odomes minutes are also up 7.9 minutes for the same periods. Those minutes are primarily being taken from Freeman -6.6 minutes and McGusty -6.7 minutes.

I take that as moves to strengthen the defense as we get further into the Big 12. Although Doolittle did lead last year's team shooting 40% BTA on 17/43, leading returning FT shooter at 81% on 93/111 and was had only 1 less RB than Lattin with 193.

They put Odomes on the other teams best player whether it’s a point or a wing.

He missed the first TCU game with a concussion

I think that Doolittle will average 10+ points the rest of the season and will be one of our better players by the tournament.

If this team wants to accomplish their goals he as to be one of the better players - desperately need his rebounding and inside presence. I don’t see any way he plays less then 20 minutes a game going forward, I think he is the 2nd most talented guy in the roster.
