ESPN Way to Early Top 25

Some of their picks/predictions make no sense. They have Baylor ranked at No. 5 and UT at No. 9. But they claim the Sooners, who they put at No. 19, will be the biggest threat to Baylor's title hopes.

Kind of hacks me off they don't say anything about our recruiting. They will in 2016.

The ranking is for 2015 and we only have one player coming this fall, EJ. This time next year their ranking will take into consideration we have Dungee and Mulkey coming in the fall.

Texas has all the talent, but they are very inconsistent..

I really like Karen Ashton. I think she will bring Texas back to being very competitive in the Big-12 and nationally. They mangled us in that Big-12 tournament game.

Time will tell.

Was Sune Agbuke really 6-foot-4?

I never thought she was that tall, but she was an excellent player - and one of Baylor's key components. They will miss her - and it will be somewhat hard to replace her with freshmen. It can happen - but experience usually helps in a number of ways.

I thought injuries hurt Texas this year. It will be interesting to see how well Texas does this coming year. I think they may be a little high at #9. I would think 12-15 is more realistic but, if their young players come on during the year I could see them as a top 10 team.

Speaking of inconsistent, I thought that described the Sooners this year. To correct that, we need for Gioya and Kornet to have good years and stop disappearing.

Texas, after the preseason, never really beat a good team again. They beat OU when we were playing rather badly, as well as with the help of some rather questionable officiating in Austin. But, they never beat Baylor. With all of that "talent," they still managed to have a 9-9 record in the Big Twelve, hardly the projected finish. Remember that we beat them before they lost their best player.

Once Texas got everyone back and healthy, except for Nneka, they were still inconsistent. Their superstar freshman guard really wasn't. They had better guards, one a freshman. They really won because of their ability to dominate inside, which may have been why they won in the preseason. A 6-6 or 6-7 player is difficult to shoot over. Stafford was a problem for us.

But, I don't really see them as getting much better unless they have someone develop who can steady the team.

Good point, Norm. But we honestly were extremely young. It was a huge problem when players would "disappear" as you put it.

Lots of it would happen when 75% of the team would foul out. Now that is a perfect definition of "disappearing". Can it be fixed?

Most things that affect teams can be fixed, i.e, poor rebounding, defense, lack of effort, etc. But, I know of no way to fix a player(s) who goes into slumps.
