from Bud Wilkinson on believed that the first order of business was to play good defense. While it MAY not win championships, you cannot win championships with out it. It seems to me that a good offense begins with and grows out of a good defense.

yep and we are one of the best D's in the country THIS season

I know the metrics say so and we are definitely improved over last season, but I just don't see it with my eyes. We have a hard time stopping penetration and don't have a great rim protector. I think it's a credit to Lon that this team has been so improved defensively but they are not a lock down defensive team.

I agree that we are a great rim protector (lattin has been very good at this in his limited min) away from being a truly elite D ..

next year we could be great on D

Fifty-nine points is ridiculous and it's hard to explain.

OU played solid defense the first 25 minutes last night (ISU missed some easy shots also). Then the roof caved in.

I'm more concerned with the lack of pride and competitiveness last night in the second half. The team has been showing a little better toughness of late but not last night.

This isn't a group of freshman out there last night.

Losing is one thing, not competing is something different.

We are fair on defense and occasionally good. But last night was not an abberation.

we have the 7th best Defense efficiently in the country .. that is much better than fair

I guess I just don't see how that can be based on what my eyes tell me. I don't think were bad defensively but I just don't agree with the fact that were the 7th most efficient defense in the country, and I'm usually a metric guy.

keep in mind that we have also faced the 4th best opponent offensive schedule in America ...

we are and have been playing some teams that are really good on O and we have kept almost everyone under their season average .. even though we play with a top 40 pace ..

Let's hope the metrics are right and my eyes are wrong come tourney time.

That is an interesting stat. I have no idea what it really means, if anything but it sounds good.

Facts just do not support this.

This team is outstanding defensively, 15 minutes last night notwithstanding.
