He lived to age 71, which may be longer than average for "rock and roll" band members of that era. RIP.

That's exactly what I said to my wife. I assume he wrote the lyrics, too, and they were also good.

Louie Louie was a staple of almost every party all over the country in the 60's and 70's. It's a true classic.
