Finding recruits for next season is Kruger's first task

I think a lot of times fans who are into recruiting clamor for ranked guys. They want players with four and five stars. Frankly, that can be fool’s gold. You have to be careful. You have to build a team. You have to have players that fit within your system, and so you get the best possible players within that strategy.

Yep.

I love this also WT.

Clamoring for OU to pull a kids scholarship for no real reason is a douche bag move in my book.

yes i think this is the way to build a "program" in our way.

UNC, Duke, UK, KU, UConn and really that's about it are able to land all the "4 and 5 stars" they want. that's fine. but after the TOP players (guys who could/should be in the NBA) i think it gets muddled to some degree and that's where the coaching staff should come in.

i feel Capel's staff failed in identifying these types of players. he either got marginal, desperation guys or went after the big-time recruits, most of which had baggage. neither of which signaled to a steady, building program as we had seen under Sampson or Tubbs.

I'd be ecstatic with signing good, 4 year players who fit a system and identity. who play hard and are hard to play against. if one of the blue-chippers happens to be in OK, TX, MO or elsewhere in the region; yea let's put on the full-court press but not at the expense of losing the program's direction.

No real reason? He sucks, he cant pass class, and did I mention he isnt any good...

Is he going to class now and making his grades? If not then he has no business being on scholarship. If so then if he's here he's here

I don't see how it's fair to pull Hardrick's or Thompson's schollies. We invited them here. If they work hard in practice, go to class and stay out of trouble, they should stay unless they want to leave.

Some of you should really do some research on Hardrick's history before commenting. He barely qualified out of high school and was removed at semester for what was indicated to be poor grades.

Hardrick was given a chance, he now has two options in my opinion. Continue at OU on his own dime or go somewhere else...no reason he should be on scholarship right now, especially if he is doing poorly in school.
