Finished 3rd in Big 12

Finishing 3rd with a .500 conference record sounds a bit crazy. Or maybe it's crazier that OU hasn't finished over .500 in conference since 2015-16.

Or first time since 2016 we’ve had a winning record after January going into tourney play.
 
It's a very competitive conference. Even the supposedly bad teams have some big wins. Finishing five spots higher than predicted is terrific.
 
No other conference has 2 #1 seeds. Most of our fans don't appreciate how difficult this conference is.
 
It was a roller coaster but also give credit where it’s due. We had some awful performances and some great ones. That is common with a younger team. Would be nice to win a game in the big12 to get some of the young dudes some tourney time.

It’s not that at all. It’s losing to crap teams we have no business losing to because we don’t show up. Iowa st, kstate, texas, osu. Those 4 wins and we’re a top 6 seed instead of sweating it out. 4 bad teams and we choke. That’s what gets people pissed off b

Those teams are nearly as good as OU.

80% of these conference games are coin-flips.

Choking is when the pressure of the moment is more than the athlete can handle. Outside of Doolittle’s misses, I didn’t see any choking. Just a cluster of mediocre teams.

Nah. We took games off. As in not even showing up. The 4 games I mentioned we didn’t even bother to compete. Maybe choking is the wrong word. Failing to show up and compete is worse than choking. We have to show up every game and fight. Not fighting and not competing is unacceptable.

I'll agree and give you the lack of fight at Iowa St, KSU & OSU, but don't think you can throw the Texas game in there. We just sucked at shooting. 10% from 3. 28% overall, and still lost by just one. Shouldn't have lost for sure, but not even close to the same category as the other three.

It is super hard to win on the road in conference in the Big XII- only 2 teams had winning road records- as historically home teams win in the Big XII about 78% of the time. With those numbers, you can expect a flop or two, but having three of them is not acceptable.

If we had just beat OSU & Texas we are sitting at 21-10, another Q1 win, probably a NET ranking of around 30-35 and most likely playing for a #6 in KC.

We'll see how that works out come Tourney time. I'd be even money today that neither Baylor nor KU make the Final Four. Depending on matchups, I could see Baylor getting bounced in their second game.

Those two teams are #1 seeds because they absolutely RAN THROUGH a weak Big 12. Really.....THIS OU team is the third best team in the league? lol

A lot of new faces in the 1/2 seed lines. I'm going to guess the pressure gets to them. I think we're going to see a lot of upsets this year.

I am happy with 3rd this year. However, I wouldn't call OU a younger team, we have a senior and 4 juniors in the rotation.
