The GM point is a good one. Not having one has been a huge detriment, since it’s clear Moser has absolutely no idea how to build a roster. He’s clueless on what type of player it takes to win at this level. Whoever we hire as coach, it would show a meaningful commitment to the program if they also hire a GM.The big thing for me is, if his coaching in the last 4 years led us to believe that us losing close games this year was a fluke, I would get it and defend him. If we were in the tournament 3 out of the last 4 years and had at least 2 winning seasons in conference. I would have no issues. If he had retained players and showed any ability to develop players at all, I would be giving him time for sure.
But it is the same year after year. No offensive identity, squandering leads, mind-numbing substitution patters, lack of any accountability on the glass and defensive end.
He may be a nice guy, but he sucks as a head basketball coach.
I hope we hire a solid up and comer with a proper basketball GM.
I was thinking more about his substitution patterns last night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a coach with less of a plan when it comes to his approach. One game he only plays two guys off the bench. The next, five bench guys play before halftime. One game a guy is your first man off the bench. The next, he barely sees the floor. It’s just another way he shows how clueless he is.
