Fire Porter Moser

For me, it's too late. This year and last year's home schedule combined with Moser's inability to build any consistent positive momentum has killed myenthusiasm for the program. I actually quit watching Saturday night and that's unheard of for me ing abut I have no connection with this team or this coach as much as I try to. I've tried to get on board with Moser (see the Wake game) but the truth is I'm to the point I'm not sure I would enjoy a winning streak because it would mean more of

My thoughts exactly!

I had two games I could have watched last night: the Thunder game was scheduled to start at seven and the OU game at eight. BigTime will hate me for this. I tuned into the Thunder game at seven and never turned it off.

I had no desire to see another heartbreaking loss when the game was all but over before the end of the first half. I checked the score online when OU was down by 17 with roughly three minutes to go in the first half. I checked it again twice in the second half, once when we were down by 19, and again at the end to see that we had lost by 17.

I can’t take any more of Porter Moser! His silly antics on the sideline drive me crazy. I feel sorry for the members of his staff. They have a ringside seat to every show! It’s obvious none of them have much input into the game.

I’m at the point now where I just want Moser gone! No passing Go, no collecting $200, just GONE!!!

Hiring a replacement is Joe C’s job! One thing is certain, he can’t do any worse than the coach we’ve got now!

The answer shouldn't matter, but what is the buyout after this season, assuming he doesn't swallow his pride and "voluntarily" go back to mid major land?

i don't think Joe C will do anything about PM, he'll leave that one up to whoever the new AD is. I don't think PM has ever been a good coach, he's just simply gotten lucky. He's had a new roster pretty much every season with different areas of talent, and never had a team that had much passion or fortitude, IMO, and that's a reflection of you as a coach. If you can't get your kids to buy in, regardless of the roster, then there's something you aren't doing correctly. we just need a change, he's proven it's not going to get better no matter who he brings in!

moser has done a pretty good job of recruiting high school talent.
problem is he couldn't coach them or keep them.

There are so many bad things about his coaching, from roster construction to retention to in-game coaching. But to me, the most damning thing you can say about a coach is that his players don't consistently play hard. Second would be if the team doesn't seem to be organized. Both those statements are true about Moser's team, year after year after year. I know Houston is an extreme example, but watch them play and compare the effort level to ours. They have multiple guys who will be NBA picks this season. including one lottery pick. Yet their coach demands that they play every second of every game like their lives are on the line. We aren't as talented, don't have nearly the margin for error, and yet play so casually. It's gross.

so the buyout...at this point....really shouldn't be a factor in the decision to fire him or not imo
Correct imo. Especially with how your other major sports are currently doing like Football, Baseball, and softball. Last year before the late run you were still concerned you could be making a football coaching change this fall. Now those sports look set for at least another year.

I think the decision falls on when is the new AD going to be hired.

Curious to hear thoughts on this… but who in your minds would be the best possible hire we could make?
1. Fred Hoiberg (make him say no. At a min, get him a nice raise at nebbish)
2. Jerrod Calhoun (Utah state)
3. Idk on anyone else yet
4. Heck no on kellen Sampson. Hes a total dork and would not command respect.

Another example of coaching mattering -- Villanova. Nova went in the tank with Neptune, and is right back to relevancy under a competent coach (and I don't really like Willard, FWIW).
