oswho wasn't doing much, NIL-wise, in football until they hired their new guy, then donors stepped up. I get that it's football in the state of Oklahoma, so it's not apples to apples, but if the new AD is in on the right guy, hopefully some donors can be convinced to step up and assure the AD and the coach he's trying to hire a better NIL situation.
Regardless of what some may think of Porters coaching ability he has been hamstrung on NIL. His first year was less than $25,000 and he is still towards the bottom of the SEC on Nil. I wonder if he would have the bigs we needed with an extra 3-4 Million. Do we hire a great coach with the same Nil and expect great success? College hoops is a semi pro league now and money talks. Who ever we hire we need to provide Nil in the top half of the SEC to compete. Until football is competitive at a top player in the SEC I expect the money will stay in football and success will be limited in basketball.
