Fire Porter Moser

This is not true. Our problem is not financial as much as it is administrative. We have mismanaged the AD and our resources for 20 years. We have money and donors that can put us on even footing with most everyone except a few. We can compete and win we just have to be smart about how we deploy the resources. We can’t waste millions like texas always does or aTm does but we can compete with those schools when we spend money wisely.

Our admin has been very slow to adapt to the new environment and they’ve spent decades overreacting to ncaa rules while handicapping the AD. Those days are over.

do we have donors willing to support nil or not?
seems like the answer is no or we wouldn't be on the low end of reported nil compared to other sec schools.

Depends on how you define mid major.

Is oral Roberts not a mid major?
Technically Gonzaga is
A couple other teams could be considered
He obviously isn’t referring to NET 300 teams. Oral Roberts is in a terrible league. Gonzaga is pretty much in a class of itself. They are one of the 10 best programs in the nation.

Well how is the term defined? It used to be teams from certain conferences. It didn’t really change year to year based on how good a team was

With all the conference realignment I have no idea what conferences are mid majors anymore.

Gonna hope that next year if OU does another deep dive mid season, Moser will be kicked out on his ass in February. We're mad and won't put up with it anymore.

I think Porter will only leave willingly when he do so having won, not as a washout. Worst case scenario now is we get into the tourney as a bubble team and he gets yet another year .. for 3 years on end .. never finishing above .500 n conference. Then he wins one game; and suddenly you have “made the tourney each of the past four years and advanced this year .. Oklahoma is lucky to have such a consistent winner”. Of course, maybe he puts it together again. He caught lightning in a bottle once.

I still wake up every day hoping something changes and PoMo leaves my beloved OU.

Surely some school will have the resources that PoMo needs? A return to the North?

*sigh*
I don't think he necessarily loves his situation here. We could hit on an inside straight draw and get rid of him still this offseason but its prolly 5% chance lol

We need some coaching Carousel madness. Unc job and otherd needs to start falling

Is there a single example of a school with a mediocre coach that infused more NIL money and actually had success?
And even more broadly, is there a single example of a coach who has shown himself to be inadequate for all but a couple seasons in a 20+ year career ever suddenly "turning things around" and becoming consistently successful, especially when coaching at a tougher level than he has ever coached at?

osu is a mid major. Kansas is not. I know a mid major when I see one.

Another example... Look at this budget that Utah State had to work with... they made the tournament back-to-back years and took Arizona to the wire last night. Not saying that NIL isn't important, but the coach still matters. Only making the tourney 1 out of 5 seasons provides no excuse regardless of circumstances. When you are a good coach you find ways to win.

Yep, I can’t remember a single time over the last 5 years where I thought “wow, we really outcoached them and got the win!”

Some of that is logical but comparing OU to Utah St is not the same in regard to schedules. St. Louis pounded Georgia then two days later got pounded by Michigan. Thats the equivalent of playing Georgia then teo days later having Florida or Tenn or Alabama types in the same conference. Utah st only has to prepare and play the likes of Arizona one time. Maybe they had their best night and still came up short. There’s a reason why some of these guys are staying put and getting a little more NIL in those same situations and being able to repeat or get close to the same type of result, they had the year before. Hodgesens turned down Syracuse and everybody thought he would stay at South Florida just to turn around and bolt to Providence which a lot are saying is due to the promises he was made in NIL contributions. Yes good to great coaching is definitely needed on most nights, but you still have to have the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s as well and in todays world and money brings a lot more of those in.

In my opinion, when you look at the case at Iowa, McCollum had a solid year but finished middle of the pack in the big 10 and that’s with a lot of his guys that have been in his system especially his superstar for the last four years. You don’t get a lot of of that anymore unless you can pony up the dough you’re in and you’re out. Honestly, Florida gave that game away with multiple bad possessions in regard to coaching and or player blenders, and not too many people are going to be calling for Todd Golden’s head today.

A friend of mine who is in Iowa fan said behind the scenes, they are already discussing how to come up with more NIL for Iowa next year to replace some of the guys they know they are losing.
