Yes, it is "only" an exhibition game, but I am really looking forward to being in my seat Wednesday evening and seeing how we look. A month from now we will know lots more than we do now.

So 4 questions:

1. Will you be there?

2. Are you excited to see the season getting started?

3. Which players will we be most excited about late Wednesday night?

4. Even though it is an exhibition will we know more about the team by Thursday morning?

1) Yes, I will be there!

2) Very excited about this season!

3) There could be potentially multiple players we are excited about after the game. My first guess would be Maddie, Gabbi and Vivi.

4) It's always difficult to know much after exhibition games. But with the experience gained by the young players last year plus a year of conditioning after major injuries (Maddie and Vivi), I think we'll be more consistent and successful this year. I want to be really good in Feb/March versus being really good in Nov/Dec.

Tycat, those are probably the 3 kids I'm most interested in seeing improvement from. Although, I would throw in the Carter kid.

Gabbi made substantial improvement over the course of last year. If she starts from where she left off, we will be a substantially better team this year. If she is better, then that is even more reason to expect good things.

I have seen it many times, it takes a kid a year or more to come back mentally from a devastating injury, much less two. I fully expect to see the real maddie this year. If she is as good as I think she can be, then again, we will be improved this year.

Gioya just needs to find her 3 point shot and keep it going to be really improved this year.

And finally, I think we were just seeing the tip of the iceberg with VIVI last year. I really got the impression that if she could get her mobility back and adjust a little bit, she could really be a force. We will see I guess.

I agree about Gioya. Gioya's main improvement needs to be consistency and less fouling. We all know what she can do when she's on. She's 1st team All Big 12 if she stays consistent and reduces her fouling.

The refs have announced that they are going to call a lot of fouls this year. We fouled a LOT last year and usually do. Those of you that go, look to see if we can keep our hands to ourselves and stay in front of the opposite player. It shouldn't be that difficult.

1.) No, I won't be there :( I'm out of town and rarely get to attend games in person

2.) Duhhhhh

3.) I'm most excited to see (in no particular order): Derica, Maddie, Penzo, and EJ. I think every other player will have very similar roles/minutes as they did last year. I'm excited to see how those 4 players fit in this year.

4.) I think so. It'll be interesting to see how the rule changes (fouls, quarters, FT differences) look in an actual game format. And even though it's just an exhibition and it'll likely be much different come conference play, I'm anxious to see how minutes, points, and other activity is distributed among the girls.

In case you have not seen the schedule, this game - even though it is an exhibition - will be televised on Cox 715 (HD) and also on Cox 68.

In the arena is much better but if that isn't possible, TV is a good 2nd choice.

1. Absolutely, can not wait to see the girls in a game situation, and how the officials are going to call the game.

2. I just love this time of year. Enjoy seeing how well the kids improved over the previous season.

3. After seeing the intra-squad scrimmage, I think the fans will be excited about the improvement in Maddie, Kaylon, Vivi, and Derica. Gabbi and Peyton will continue with their solid play. T'ona maybe the surprise dark horse.

4. I don't know, considering just about everyone healthy will get some good minutes, but fundamentals are fundamentals. I think it will be easy to see who put in the work over the post and pre-season to improve their chance to put in more minutes on the floor for the new season.

I looked for the game on DirecTV and didn't see it. FSSW at 7:00 on Wednesday night?

I noticed the following sentence in that article:

Williams was second in the Big 12 last season and ranked fourth in the nation with a .596 field goal percentage

That is why I disagreed with the comment in another thread that KK "is still shooting bricks".

One of the biggest improvements we could see this year is for her to find a way to avoid as many fouls. The problem is that once you get a reputation for that it is hard to escape.

But if Vivi has improved, the rotating of them should be even more effective.
