Who is coming off the bench out of these 3.

My guess is Fitzgerald.

I think Fitz makes the most sense as a bench player. He can come of the bench and give you instant offense in the post. Plus, as a bench player, his lack of defense does not hurt you as much as it would if he was a starter.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Plus, it may help him stay out of foul trouble.

Quite the turnaround from last year. We didn't have the luxury of worrying about which "scorer" would come off the bench. The Sooners are still a long way away to the level we are used to playing at, but still can't help but feel good about this year's team.

Of those three, Fitz is the likely candidate to come off the bench this season. He's essentially a one-dimensional player who can score from fifteen and in. IMO, his defense and rebounding (or lack thereof) will make him the odd man out. At the same time, I agree with BOK in that Drew will give us a scoring option off the bench that we really haven't had in sometime.

No one mentioned Cam Clark, who was a starter in most of the games he participated in last year. He has to be considered in trying to determine who starts this season. If LK wants to play up tempo and press full court, it will be Osby, M'Baye and Clark. If he decides to go with more size, he'll start Fitz, Osby and M'Baye and let Cam come off the bench.

The best part about this discussion is that we have the depth to talk about bringing starters the past two seasons off the bench in a back up role this year. No matter who starts, I see that as a VERY good thing!

Does it matter? I am more interested in who is playing the last 5 minutes. I hope M'Baye and Osby are talented enough to see all three guys on the floor at the same time for stretches in the game.

It sure is nice to potentially have three guys that can score for two positions.

I agree...but I will answer the question.

Fitz has improved every year...I expect him to improve from last season to this, and I expect him to start. Fitz didn't end the season on a high note..but up until midway thru conference play...he was playing pretty good.

I think starting Fitz gives us a better chance to win...he's warmed up, not stiff and with his ability to score away from the basket...it gives us a chance to get our offense rolling. If his offense isn't flowing very well, bring M'baye in. But to be honest...if M'Baye is truly more dominant...and will help us better by starting, then so be it. I'm going to give the edge to Fitz though with him having played in the big 12 the past 3 seasons and having gone up against big 12 BIGS over M'Baye going up against MWC BIGS. Its up to Kruger, and either way...I hope that these 2 guys make it tough on Kruger on choosing a starting 5. Last year...no competition for playing time...This year, I hope its a different story

It almost has to be Fitz when you consider LK's history and philosophy, but this is definitely a good situation for us.

Does DJ Bennett get the 4th post player minutes? I am holding out hope he can beat out Arent for 6 to 8 minutes a game.

I'd go with this answer, Joel Anthony wasn't even a starter on that UNLV team that made the Sweet 16 under Lon. Matters more about how the minutes are used throughout the game and what's best for team chemistry.
