Late in the game I believe one of our guys drove right past the basket on the baseline and no one was around him and instead of making a simple layup he passed to someone on the 3 point line who missed. i have never seen something like this and we were down 1 and would have been up 1. This would have payed down the line with a win possibly.

Anyone remember seeing this play and can you believe it?

I saw it and wondered as well. I think it was Blair and he was probably concerned about being blocked. That would be the only reason I could think of.

It was Blair, and he passed up an apparent easy layup to kick out to Pledger for a wide open three. I was mad, cause the layup would have put us up one. but had Pledge hit the three, it would have been a great play. Blair must not have realized how wide open he was?

That was a bad decision. I understand not being selfish but take the shot when it's there.

i was going to make a comment about that as well. sometimes blair plays TOO unselfish. hes all about team playing & stuff & he doesnt like to shoot much. he's rather pass but i mean cmon. you HAVE to take shots like that

It wasn't Pledger, it was Clark in the corner...Pledger had just hit his last 3 but Blair should have taken the lay-up

Exactly. Had it been Steve, okay, but not Cam, he is not a proficient enough 3 shooter to pass up 2 points.

I don't care if it was Steve Kerr in the corner, take the layup! The only reason to kick that ball out is if you need a 3 as time is running out or you are up 30 and just running clock.

Blair would have had to do a fake and finish under the basket layup cause the defender had him completely covered for his first attempt towards the basket. The layup was certainly not a given and Clark was completely wide open. Just one of those things where if Clark hit it, game changer. We were getting swatted all night so Im sure after a full night of getting hammered while driving in, he felt that was our best chance.

I don't think it was as easy a layup as some think. He seemed to be behind the backboard and would have had to step back to try and take the shot and may have gotten it blocked. Still wish he had tried it instead of kicking it out for a three try.
