Per espn.com...Maryland could be a favorite to win the Big 10

Wasn't he dismissed for a sexual assault case? And is literally the only player that Coach K has ever dismissed?

That's not a good look for Maryland.

They might be a favorite to win it all. Their starting 5 is pretty sick: Melo Trimble, Rasheed Sulaimon, Jake Layman, Robert Carter and Diamond Stone.

Turgeon is doing a fabulous job. Actually West Virginia beating Maryland was the only quality win the Big 12 had in the tournament.

He certainly shouldn't. He was dismissed from Duke. But the players have no representation so who knows.

My only concern would be that if he's eligible immediately what is to stop other players who are seeking transfer to break team rules and attempt to be dismissed so they don't have to sit? Am I just crazy and over thinking things?

Had he not been dismissed he was certainly leaving the program and would've had to sit a year in that scenario. It almost seems like he's rewarded for misconduct if he is eligible immediately.

Good point! I didn't even consider that possibility. I hate that kids have to sit out at all. It's bad for the game IMO. If a kid went to Kentucky and wasn't playing much but could start for OU he should be able to transfer and play immediately. Not in the middle of a semester but twice a year between semesters. That would really spice things up.

Interesting. I wonder if they were given the information on why he was dismissed before ruling?

Even though he was kicked off the team, he will graduate in August and be eligible immediately under the graduate transfer rule.
