I agree. But Capel would have to let us/make us run more for Calvin to be effective. He is so unagressive when he's in there. He's just trying not to turn it over, and because of that he turns it over. He should be going full out ahead looking to score and creating. Not dribbling up and trying to set up the offense every time.

I wish Neal would get to play more too. I know he's young and not very agressive on either end either, but I agree with all the posters that say what's the difference in losing by 20 and losing by 30 if it gets our young guys some experience/PT. Plus I just can't help but think that he can't be much worse than Nick Thompson. He really hurts us.

I also wish we wouldn't play 4 guards. It puts us at such a disadvantage. I would like to see Honore come in and bang and foul 5 minutes a game and Neal playing 10 mins a game. I dont like the 6 man rotation we have now. It makes us so short-handed when we dont have to be.

I think we should be getting minutes out of as many players as possible at this point. Let Honore bang and foul and do what he can and get Neal some minutes.

Newell should be playing more, the only way for him to get better is game experience. I sat behind the bench at the All College Classic and was yelling "free newell" and he enjoyed it even though he didn't get in much that game.

Coach needs to be doing what is best for the University of Oklahoma men's basketball program. If letting the youngsters get acclimated to Big 12 play during a probable losing season comes at the expense of a senior's minutes then so be it.

Yeah, I don't really disagree with you. It's just a tough situation for a coach because how do you cut your team captain and leader's minutes? I would hate to have to make that decision. Also the other candidate for hminutes would be Nick Thompson and he's already had his minutes shaved. He would basically switch roles with Tyler.

I suspect what everyone wants to happen will happen, but probably 10 games into the conference.

Why cut Cades minutes? Play the following lineup:

1. Newell
2. Clark
3. Cade
4. Neal (split time with Honore)
5. Fitz

Bring Pledger, Blair, Honore, Thompson, and whoever else who can chew gum and walk at the same time and let them all play as much as needed.

I know Newell isn't a one, but some on here think he will/could be the 1 next year and Clark isn't a 2, but again, some say he will be the 2 next year. Start getting them used to their new roles.
