Deondre (class of '14) is being looked at as a TE/DE by several schools. Mizzou has already offered (but no hoops offer for Stevie says Rivals). Deondre is a very solid looking player and it sounds like there is a positive "family" vibe for OU. On Rival's film he looks athletic and maybe less of a "project player" that young TEs can tend to be. If he continues to improve I can definitely see an OU offer. OU likes to have good TE numbers, we signed four in the last class and there are also rumors that one has been quite homesick. I'm sure Deondre is getting a look from Stoops & Co. but I hate to see Mizzou get a jump here. I know Stevie signs first but you have to think an offer for Deondre would help us.

What's that old saying, "turn about is fair play?" Kruger helped Stoops sign Gary Simon to play football. Now it's time for Stoops to return the favor by extending an offer to Deondre Clark. Thus, increasing Kruger's chances of signing Stevie.

Get it done, Bob!

Also mentioned calling Gerald McCoy his cousin, saying he's not really his cousin but was around all the time and is very close to the family...

Maybe that relationship can help us out? GK came to men's bball games religiously, surely he can talk to Stevie... (not asked by Kruger of course)

Hopefully his cousin Moose will put in a good word as well:

I hate that this is true, but if we don't get Clark, that is going to be a major letdown. To me at least.

I'm right there with you. Lon and company need to find a way to get this done.

I can handle losing a kid like Stevie to the Kentucky's of the world. I won't be happy about it. But I can stomach it a little better. However, if Clark were to go to OSU that would be a real kick teeth.

Doubt it matters if OU decides they want him.

MU offered Onuoha long before OU did. He publicly said he was going to commit to MU, but he wanted to wait until his parents got back from a trip to Africa before making it official. And then OU offered, and things changed.

OU isn't going to lose in-state football players to MU or anyone else very often.

Agreed Sawyer. I'm not so much worried about Deondre as simply highlighting the effect of Deondre's recruitment on our chances with Stevie. Sure, OU tends not to lose homegrown football recruits to neighboring states but the same can't be said of basketball recruits.

The dream scenario I suppose would be a football offer to Deondre and his quick acceptance. Stoops has really changed his recruiting approach this year. Lots of offers to players outside of Texas with most of them being pretty high profile kids. Mike Stoops and Kish must have recommended that we go more national and early. They also seem to be slow playing in-state kids (not that unusual really) like Stanvon Taylor. So I doubt any offer to Deondre is imminent. Still, any love shown Deondre you would think makes them the favorite. He's a '14 kid so there is plenty of time. And Stoops loves football players who also play basketball. I like our chance with Stevie but getting in contact with Deondre could help us even more.
