Have you not read Erik Striker's interview? Did you not grasp why it was that the SAE video caused him such pain and anger? It's not this one incident, not by a long shot. It's a lifelong struggle, even today, when things are undeniably better than they once were.

Striker has made it worse. He has a lot to learn.

So you figure black folks have had it pretty good since the end of Civil War, then? Once we got rid of that slavery thing, it's been smooth sailing for them?
Did I once ever even come close to implying that? No.

I'll say it again: White people experience and have experienced nothing that is remotely equivalent to the personal, societal, and institutional racism black folks experience and have experienced, and honestly, it's not even debatable. What's so hard to accept or acknowledge about that statement?
I never disagreed with this statement

But it's when racism and oppression are societal and institutional, not just individual and personal, that the real damage gets done, that the real pain is caused.
agree

Are you saying it's not a big deal and overblown because of the media attention? Are you implying we can do it because they do it to. I seem to hear that implied on a variety of subjects, excusing ones behavior or attitude, the word spread by political tools. They are disgusting and people shouldn't fall into the trap.

not at all.

Dang reading comprehension and the ability to not make assumptions off of statements is really declining in this country:ez-laugh:

Might be going down the wrong road on this Booker deal. He didn't practice Monday or Tuesday. The team left after practice Tuesday. I don't know if Booker made the trip or not.

He is obviously jammed up in some manner. If he isn't available, my guess it because he hasn't taken care of his school business.

Any word on Buford or are people getting their panties in a wad over nothing?

Are there black folks who resent or even hate white folks? Sure. There are a certain number of people of every color and culture who hate people of every other color or culture.

So nobody can confirm whether booker made the trip to KC or not? Seems as if someone would know by now.

That's exactly what RJ Young said over on the SoonerScoop board yesterday. Kruger told him it had nothing to do with the video or disciplinary issue. RJ "guessed" the school part.

If Frank didn't travel, that gives a lot more minutes to Walker. Having only 1 sub for Jordan, Isaiah, and Buddy puts a lot of pressure on a team trying to play 3 games in 3 days…….

I hope Booker gets it together….. even if he traveled a day later.

This isn't Booker's first academic "issue". Get it together Frank!

The SAE video was stupid and ignorant and about everything else you want to say.

But if Frank Booker quits on his teammates because of it, he is missing the point. He is punishing himself and his team unnecessarily.

Why quit on your team because you are made at someone else. Makes no sense. Other than you were already going to be ineligible (e.g., academic issues) and you want to make it look like you took a stand against racism.

Rumor and conjecture. 50-something posts in and nothing but rumor and conjecture.

The internet. Woof.

Surely, he wouldn't bail on his team, because of the video. It's not like one of the coaches or players, did the idiotic act.

For what it's worth, Frank's twitter account intro says "I am an OU basketball player and a part of a movement to minimize the ignorance on our campus and hopefully change campuses around the nation." The only significance of this I see is that Frank seems to still consider himself an "OU basketball player" even in the wake of this SAE scandal. Of course, none of that answers any of the other speculation raised in this thread.

Whatever Frank Booker does, I personally support him and want the best for him. I also really admire his athletic ability. I dreamed of being the athlete he is.
