#freedante

It's cool that everyone hates white v black racism and all (the reverse is still tolerated for some reason see- kamau kambon Cspan speech and no outrage) but these acts were done by a very small number of racist douches.. who cares what they say/think?

Our guys need to get there head right. Oklahoma is an awesome state and Were all behind you regardless of color.

you can tell that if you follow him on twitter. He is pissed/hurt/confused right now

That's too bad. Hopefully he'll calm down and realize that the SAE video was the product of a handful of idiots who didn't give a flip who would be hurt by their actions.

Is it possible Jamuni's tweet about Buford was based on the knowledge that Frank may be planning to leave now? In other words, "free Dante" because we're going to need him going forward. Just a thought.

Hopefully, someone in the know can clear this up for us before long.

As a white 30 year old, I am in no place to tell a 19 year old black man how he should feel right now.

If true, he is bailing on his team bc a handful of freshmen sang a racist chant. 99 percent of the people in norman is on his side. There is nothing to protest. He is in for a rude awakening about life if he finds this offensive and devastating enough to quit on his team

The majority of people on this board have likely never been the victims of racial oppression. I can understand how a college kid can feel betrayed by the actions they witnessed by their fellow students. The SAE's maybe an idiotic few, but it doesn't make the hateful things they chanted any less impactful.

Whatever. This isn't even close to oppression. That is laughable. These kids were singing a song and would never act on it

There is no reverse. White people experience and have experienced nothing that is remotely equivalent to the personal, societal, and institutional racism black folks experience and have experienced for centuries in this country. And you surely don't need me to explain that further. If you do, I give up.

Are you saying there is no reverse racism? Of course not to the extent of slavery, etc but cmon

So you figure black folks have had it pretty good since the end of Civil War, then? Once we got rid of that slavery thing, it's been smooth sailing for them?

I'll say it again: White people experience and have experienced nothing that is remotely equivalent to the personal, societal, and institutional racism black folks experience and have experienced, and honestly, it's not even debatable. What's so hard to accept or acknowledge about that statement?

Are there black folks who resent or even hate white folks? Sure. There are a certain number of people of every color and culture who hate people of every other color or culture.

But it's when racism and oppression are societal and institutional, not just individual and personal, that the real damage gets done, that the real pain is caused.

Have you not read Erik Striker's interview? Did you not grasp why it was that the SAE video caused him such pain and anger? It's not this one incident, not by a long shot. It's a lifelong struggle, even today, when things are undeniably better than they once were.

Are you saying it's not a big deal and overblown because of the media attention? Are you implying we can do it because they do it to. I seem to hear that implied on a variety of subjects, excusing ones behavior or attitude, the word spread by political tools. They are disgusting and people shouldn't fall into the trap.

Might be going down the wrong road on this Booker deal. He didn't practice Monday or Tuesday. The team left after practice Tuesday. I don't know if Booker made the trip or not.

He is obviously jammed up in some manner. If he isn't available, my guess it because he hasn't taken care of his school business.
