I know this is probably super simplifying things, but isn't the only thing affecting his academic eligibility his grades from the fall semester?
So if he's not playing because of academics, it's either because he's been skipping classes and being disciplined by the athletic department for it, or involved in some sort of academic misconduct.

Again, super-simplifying things, but academic eligibility-wise, couldn't a player more or less blow off the spring semester, and then make it up in the summer to get eligible by fall?

Players are required to attend class, and can and will be suspended for not going. I can remember Eduardo Najera had to have an escort to class to make sure he went because he'd been cutting too many classes.

Impossible!

I had nutrition with Eduardo and between the days I skipped and the days he skipped I'm pretty sure I saw him once.

You seem to normally have some inside info coach, and by what you said here I'm guessing you know something on this? Or are you just kind of guessing like the rest of us?

Class is the issue. Not sure he made the trip to KC. Still trying to find out for sure.
We'll see what the future holds.

I'm on my phone so I can't post them, but the OU Basketball Twitter account just posted a few pictures of the teams first practice today, and Frank is in 3 of them.

Y'all can't rest easy and stop the speculation now! :p

if he did stay back an extra day and finish up some school work before Spring Break, then i think he should be applauded.

k now lets move onto #freedante

I have a feeling that was nothing more than Jamuni wanting the handcuffs removed so Dante could travel with the team.

If so, that's not going to happen. The NCAA allowed him to practice with the team the second semester. But, if I understand the restrictions associated with their decision correctly, he is limited to practice and workout sessions this season.

Hopefully he can hitch a ride to KC with friends and at least cheer the team on.

Good call. It has to suck watching your team drive away to the post-season.

I wonder if he is even allowed to crash with a teammate if he gets a ride. Sometimes the NCAA rules are ridiculous in application.

This thread has been an absolute roller coaster. Various topics have been covered, speculated, rehashed, and confirmed. Gotta love the internet;)

He hasn't been at practice though. And you know the team would want him there for scout team purposes. Sounds like there might be an issue

I doubt he could stay with a teammate because the rooms are paid for by the team. Obvioulsy ridiculous rule, but that's the NCAA.

But, it wouldn't be too expensive a trip if he found 3 other guys to car pool and split a room, and he coudl actually enjoy KC during the trip since he's not there as a member of the team.

One of the most absurd statements I've read on this board.

Glad to see Booker's in KC.

Hate on top of hate is counter productive imo. Absurd notion, I know.
