soonerhooper60 do you have stats on this game? I heard the radio announcer say Kamy had 8 points, but someone over on Texashoops claims she had 12 points. Do you have any of her other stats in the game such as assists, steals, etc..

Kamy had 12 points and 12 rebounds, with 3 steals and 3 assists. She made some big free throws down the stretch to ice the game.

Brock won by 10. But had Grandview down 25-3 at half. The coach from Brock rested the starters the second half. Kamy didn't shoot a lot and only had 8 points , but had many steals and assists . Game tomorrow will determine who goes to state. Its # 1 Brock vs. # 2 Godley.

That was a great defensive 1st. half by Brock. The announcer said they were playing at 2:00 P.M. on saturday. It should be a good game to listen too, being conference rivals and #1 vs. #2.

Sharane Campbell and her Star Spencer team won friday against McLoud 53-49 in the loser bracket and will now play Seminole at 1:30 P.M. saturday at Harrah with the winner moving on to the Area Tournament.

Brock won by 10. I don't have any stats at this time. I just know Kamy Cole and the Brock Lady Eagles are headed back to state to try for a three peat. I'll try and get some details of the game and post them later.

STEPHENVILLE — This one was for all the marbles. Twice the No. 1 and No. 2 teams had met in the regular season when Godley and Brock battled, and each shared the top spot during those two matchups. The teams split the games, and it was fitting that the third and final duel between the two teams came in the regional finals at Tarleton State University on Saturday afternoon.

Brock prevailed 43-33 to punch a ticket to the state tournament in Austin.

Brock broke the ice early when Savannah Fisher drilled two 3-pointers to give the Lady Eagles an early 6-0 lead. They used their stifling defense to hold the Lady Cats scoreless for the first five minutes.

Godley’s Anna Perez got the Lady Cats on the board with a nifty jump shot to make it 10-2, and then Brady Sanders drilled a 3-pointer off a Brock turnover to make it 10-5. The comeback continued for Godley as the Lady Cats cut the lead to 12-9, but Perez went down with a leg injury and didn’t return for the remainder of the half.

Brock extended its lead to 16-9 after a basket from Amy Henard, and two free throws from Kambrie Shoush before Sanders banked in a 3-pointer to cut it to 16-12.

Brock’s Kami Kole then made a tough jumper to give the Lady Eagles an 18-12 advantage. Sanders then added two free throws and another 3-pointer to bring Godley to within 18-17 with 2:34 left.

Sanders continued to carry the Lady Cats from the beginning of the third period. She drilled another long 3-pointer, and then banked in a shot from the foul line to give Godley a 22-18, completing an amazing comeback. With 6:39 remaining in the third period, she had 20 of Godley’s 22 points. The other two belonged to Perez, who continued to be sidelined with her leg injury.

After another Sander’s 3-pointer, Kole put in two free throws to bring Brock back to within two at 25-23 with 3:24 remaining. Kole forced another steal, and scored on the ensuing fast break to tie the game before drilling another jumper to put Brock on top 27-25.

But, on Godley’s next possession, Sanders hit yet another 3-pointer to give the Lady Cats the one-point edge. They led, 28-27, entering the final quarter.

Henard gave Brock the lead back in the first few minutes of the fourth, and Parliament added another jumper along the baseline to extend the lead to 31-28.

Maelan Brown split her two attempts at the line, and Kole scored again for Brock to extend the lead to 33-29.

Kole continued to carry the Lady Eagles down the stretch, and Brock tried to lock down on Sanders to preserve the lead as time ticked down.

Shoush added two free throws to give Brock a 39-33 lead as the game began to slip away from Godley in the final minute.

Kole led Brock with 18 points. Sanders was the high scorer for Godley with 29

A look at what's ahead for the Future Sooners...

On Wed. #4 4A Ankeny 20-3 takes on #2 4A Linn-Mar 21-2 at 11:45 A.M. in the Quaterfinals of the State Tournament. The game will be Web cast for a fee. I hope to get to watch this game so we can watch Maddie Manning for the first time. If Ankeny wins they will play again friday at 12 noon against the winner of the Cedar Rapids Washington 19-3 and Iowa City West 21-2.

Also on wednesday, #1 5A Saint Thomas Aquinas 20-0 host K.C. Hamon 0-18. How does a winless team like Harmon get into the Sub-State playoffs? Their best game was a 11 point loss and Massey Ratings rates them as the #371 team out of 377 teams in Kansas. I expect a 60-80 point win for Aquinas in this game. Anyway if they win they will play on friday against the winner of the #6 5A Bishop Miege 15-5 and Gardner-Edgerton 13-7. I plan on going to Pittsburg, Kansas to watch the game on friday, it will be our first look at how DaShawn Harden plays.

Thursday #1 6A Midwest City takes on #4 Norman at 6:30 P.M. at the Harrah High School with the winner advancing to the State Quaterfinals.

Also on thursday Star Spencer takes on #15 4A Dickson in a 1:30 game at Chickasha. If Star Spencer wins they will then face the winner of the Byng vs. #10 Piedmont game on friday at 1:30 at Chickasha.

Friday #1 2A Brock 33-5 takes on unranked San Saba 30-8 at 8:30 A.M. at the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas. The game will likely be broadcast on QXFM.com. If Brock wins they will play in the final on Saturday at 2:00 P.M.. That game is to be televised on FoxSportsSouthwest. com.

Good Luck to all our future Sooners.

OU commit Maddie Manning misses the games final shot as the #4 4A Ankeny team fell to #2 4A Linn-Mar 47-48. Linn-Mar led 14-11 after 1 period, 22-20 at the half and 36-32 after 3 periods. Ankeny tied or led several times however and Manning had a shot to win the game on the final play, but missed her shot got her own rebound and missed again and the ball went out of bounds as Linn-Mar held on for the 1 point win.
OU commit 6'1" Jr. Manning led her team with 16 points, 6 assist and 6 rebounds. She also had at least 4 steals in about 30 minutes of play. UCONN signee 6' 3" Kiah Stokes who averages over 25 points a game was held to 18 points, she also had 11 rebounds and 4 assist. Geno was at the game to watch Stokes.
Maddie probably fells bad about not winning this game, but she has had a good season and Ankeny has all their starters back next season as well as most of their bench players so they should be the team to beat next season.
Congradulations to Ankeny for making it to State this season, next season I think there is a State Title with your name on it.
