Future Sooners

How do you find this stuff? I can't even find it in Texas, and I'm not that far from Brock..

I get most of the info from the local newspapers in their area or in the opponents area, sometimes I can get it from a school web site, or a basketball forum page in the states they live in. It takes alot of searching, this season Brock has been the hardest to get info on, but when I couldn't find any results on Brock's game then SoonerHooper60 has come through with how Kamy and her team did in the game. (Thanks SoonerHooper60)
If the team plays in a tournament I can often find a bracket on the hosts school website. Sometimes the results just aren't posted anywhere, such as Orange Park's game with P.K.Younge, however I was able to find out who won by checking their ranking the following week.
I use the state rankings when I can find them, for example in Oklahoma I use the Coaches Aide Rankings and if the team is not listed then I go to OK Rankings and if the team still is not listed then I use the Massey Ratings which rate all teams. Again, it takes alot of searching.

Ankeny lost to Catholic Dowling 25-52. Manning was the highest scorer for Ankeny with 10 points. The game was tied after 1 period at 7 points, but Dowling hit 4-4 three pointers in the 2nd. period and personal fouls on the visiting Ankeny made sure they couldn't come back. The Dowling team led 45-23 after 3 periods and Ankeny could only get 2 points in the final period.

Star Spencer beat Douglas 65-40.

Brock won at Tolar 58-28.

Could not find any other details on these two games.

The Brock/Tolar game was relatively close the first half, Brock only up by 10. The second half, Brock tightened up the defense with Kamy getting most of her steals jumping the passing lanes and picking the ballhandler. Kamy had 23 points, 10 steals, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Tolar is tied for third place in the district and Brock and Godley play Tuesday night in Brock. Should be a good one.

I was shocked that Brock won at Tolar by such a large margin, but I wasn't shocked to see that Kamy was just one rebound away from having a triple-double. I saw her have a triple-double last season in a tournament where they beat another ranked team by more than 30 points.
When I watched Brock beat Tolar earlier this month by 13 points I thought that the Tolar team reminded me of the Norman North team in Oklahoma.
Way to go Kamy and good luck taking out #1 2A Godly in Brock's next game.

DaShawn Harden led all scorers as her Aquinas team beat conference foe Blue Valley Southwest 64-25. Aquinas led 18-6 after 1 period and 40-12 at the half. The lead went up to 50-21 after 3 periods. Harden finished with 14 points in limited playing time as 11 Aquinas players scored.

Zanders Orange Park team lead their district and will get a 1st. round bye in District play this evening.
They will play the winner of the FirstCoast/Sandalwood game being played at 6 today. Orange Park's game with the winner will be thursday at 7 and is being played at Sandalwood (Jacksonville).
Good Luck to Katherine Zanders and her Orange Park teammates.

(Update: FirstCoast beat Sandalwood 61-40)

All other Future Sooner games scheduled for today have been canceled due to the blizzard. Even the Brock area got around 2" of snow and ice.

The Ankeny game scheduled for today against Roosevelt has been moved to next tuesday.

DaShawn Harden's Aquinas team has a game scheduled for today, but it will likely be cancelled as their school has canceled classes today.

Brock beat Godley this afternoon by 16, 58-42. Kamy Cole and post Paige Parliament combined for 45 of the 58. Kamy finished with 21 points, 7 steals, 8 boards, and 5 assists.
