Thought I would start a Future Sooners thread so we can keep up with the high school careers of soon to be Sooners.

Our Florida Future Sooners have started their seasons and as has been mentioned Vionese Pierre-Louis started off with a great game. Here is a short article regarding the 27 point 15 rebound game from Vionese:

FORT LAUDERDALE — Grandview Prep girls basketball knocked off St. Thomas 47-45 on the road in a frenetic inter-county season opener. Senior center Vionise Pierre-Louis led the way for the Pride with a game-high 27 points and 15 rebounds.

"She is our anchor. She's got the best hands that I've ever seen. The best feet I've ever seen. And she's got a great touch," Grandview coach Gary Downing said. "I'm so excited for her senior year."

With the Pride (1-0) coming off a trip to the state semifinals and the Raiders (0-1) reaching the district semifinals, Downing was prepared for a battle. The game lived up to the billing, as there was a single-digit deficit from start to finish.

"I am so proud of the girls. We knew that this was going to be a hostile environment," Downing said. "We were preparing the whole preseason for this game. I just really like that towards the end of the game we held it together. "

That is pretty exciting. Add her to Ortiz and we have a possible high impact class.

Sorry, 'Cuda. I also started a thread about our new recruits; could have added my observations to your thread.

Thanks for the update, I wonder if Pierre-Louis can play at the 4.

27 points and 15 rebounds? She might be able to play point guard if she can keep those numbers coming!

Gabbi Ortiz plays for The Prairie School in Racine, WI. Her team is having their first practice today. Their first game isn't until November 29th when they play in a tournament at Brookfield Central High School.

Good luck to Gabbi as she prepares to start her senior season.

Gileysa Penzo plays for Montverde Academy which is located near Orlando. Her season has started and her team has won games 67-17 and 64-5. I haven't been able to locate any stats for those games...but so far it would seem they haven't played much competition.

I believe Ortiz will likely be one of the all-time greats by the time she graduates.

I also like what little I know about Pierre-Louise.

I just don't know much about Williams or Penzo.

Is it within the NCAA rules to contact the school to ask about results?

Found some info on Dungee's games so far:

Went Wewoka High School near New Lima and back in the day, New Lima was damn good...so if they are still as good as they used to be, that score speaks volumes..
