GAME 18 - OKLAHOMA (11-6) vs #18 ALABAMA (12-5) 12:00pm CST on SECNETWORK

i think this loss might turn into the team being done with porter and just going through the motions ..

should fire porter now .. make X's stepdad the interim and see what they can do the rest of the way .. (before the coaching search) .
I'm trying to remember if Joe C. has ever fired a coach midseason. It would have to be in a non-revenue sport. He hasn't fired a football coach and Capel wasn't fired until after the season was over.

We need an AD. Joe C. shouldn't be doing the search for the new coach while on his way out the door. Hopefully, the AD candidates all have working lists of coaches.

But there is a point to putting Porter out of his misery, especially if the team quits on him.

I think the staff is equating Brown and Fears. Fears could take over a game when OU was up six with a few minutes to go and seal the deal. He had that capability. Brown is not that. He cannot take over a game like that. They need to continue running their offense. It cannot turn into Brown dribbles around trying to make something happen. That will always end badly

Up 11 at the half. First possession-Tide dunk. OUr possession-contested three missed. Second possession-Tide three.
A good coach calls TO right there and chews for the entire duration about coming out flat. We go ahead and let them snag five more points before making the signal. Everything else after that was academic. Anyone who's watched this clown show for four seasons knew good and well what would happen the rest of the way.

Oh 100%

Yea the sad truth is we have had dozens of worse late game shots than the one we got on our final possession today. But the five-possession sequence coming out of the timeout with three minutes left … that’s where Moser showed his true colors.

Until Moser, I’m not sure I thought coaches could choke in the same way players can. But it’s definitely a real thing with him. It’s uncanny what a terrible job he does in the final few minutes of close games. You look at how rarely we get quality possessions compared to other teams and it’s a crazy disparity.

Yeah looking at it again, I agree Brown was probably fouled. Pack has made many of those shots though. It wasn’t a bad look. He’s an elite shooter who shot it very poorly today. It’s amazing we even had a chance, only shooting 25% from 3. You have to be better than that at home.
No doubt, brother. I agree 100%

Nah imo make him collect his well-deserved Ls. I want his resume as damaged as possible. Save on buyout maybe too?

I saw someone say that Brown waved off a play then dribbled around for a bad shot or turnover or something like. That shouldn’t even be an option in that time of the game. Brown is good but not “wave off a play during crucial minutes” good.

Scott Drew called timeout a minute into last night’s game in Lawrence for that very reason.

Brown and Pack are very nice players individually but having them together is a bad recipe in the SEC. Both are short and neither is strong. And both are below average athletes for this level, so it’s tough for either of them to create and finish shots in critical moments. A good coach would realize this when putting together a roster.

I think they really bought into the Brown stock. Turns out he’s not elite. He’s a nice piece but not elite.

I just can’t anymore. It’s over and I’m done. The best thing for the program is if we lose every game left and moser gets ran out of town on a rail.

No I’m not rooting against us. I’m just pissed.

Well, if we had good ball movement it prolly wouldn't matter. But our offense gameplan is trash

Ok this is just insane. Our primary goal was to get a midrange shot?? You have two viable options: play for a three to try to win the game, or try to drive it and get fouled or score at the rim. But nope, our coach wanted to set up a midrange shot.

Hell, given that, our players actually deserve credit for getting a decent look for the win.

I guess tiny credit to Loser for not pretending like Brown was fouled.
