GAME 28- OKLAHOMA (13-14) vs AUBURN (15-12) 8:00pm CST on ESPNU

Missed the game, work at 5am, so obviously had to sleep.

We shot 68% from 3pt range? lol wow.
Looks like Mo had a solid game.
No Atak minutes...not surprised.

Going super heavy with the top 7 lineup.

Speaking of coaches who won’t pan out. Nepo baby hire Pearl won’t.
While I want a new coach I am NOT actively rooting for OU to lose, ever. This was a game I really wanted to win - spoil Auburn's tournament hopes and Pearl throwing his arms up after every possession complaining. And their fan base...

7-1 when wague scores double digits. Our only loss was the choke job against A&M. That means 6-12 when he can’t score. Ball inside to open up outside. Super novel idea.
i think it is also if he is scoring PM plays him more (and that means he is not in foul trouble) .. and he is very important for the OU defense to even have a pulse

This is the way

Ou can win rest of reg season games and Moser should still be fired. Only way ou makes the tournament now is if they win the conference tournament. That won’t happen.

I hope you’re right but I could see a doomsday scenario where we win a couple more regular season games, then a meaningless Wednesday game in Nashville, and Denny or whoever makes the decision uses that to justify another season. That would be ridiculous and unjustified, but it’s also ridiculous that he has been given five years, so I wouldn’t rule it out. I think our best bet is finishing so poorly that Denny can’t possibly think there is a single reason to keep the bum around for another second.

The decision to move on from Moser has pretty much been made already by the fans via the hemorrhaging ticket sales. His buyout can essentially be paid for if most of those ticket sales return.

Well, they got their ass handed to them as well… crazy after the way they’ve played. Baseball such a weird game… in that sense. Ark st beat the pigs 12-4 I think
Yep. Like the other poster mentioned, OU baseball will need to figure out their midweek starting pitching. The three weekend guys have been good so far. The others have not. And it matters because a) they play midweek games pretty much all season, and b) it takes more than 3 starting pitchers to be successful in the postseason.

The big difference in the Mo Wague in the last couple of games is avoiding the early foul trouble. If he picks up a foul early, he loses his aggressiveness, ironically creating more foul trouble as he doesn't move as much and reaches more.

The other thing that helped Mo last night, and was really the first time I can recall Porter doing this, is we had that high/middle pick and roll working and kept going to it over and over. They literally had no answer to it. That was a huge factor early with him picking up some early fouls on Auburn and getting them in foul trouble.

Finally, told a buddy of mine at the game, it's crazy the best play we get out of Mo is when he is fasting. Maybe he focuses more, but we need that play year-round.

Auburn getting dominated by a bad OU team should immediately remove them from NCAA tourney consideration.

We will find out how seriously the new OU leadership is about basketball. No matter what happens, there is no doubt that moser has failed at OU and should be fired. Worst OU bball coach of my lifetime and that includes capel. There is really no decision to be made if we’re serious about basketball success. I think moser is done and will be fired, regardless of winning a few more games. Theres no way this team will win 4 games in the conference tourney so the NCAA tourney is not happening.

Yes.

OU has to figure out how to be good at basketball in the new era. That includes the president, AD, and BMDs. We've been doing it with one arm tied behind our back for years. Porter's in over his head at this level, but it's not all on him.

Perhaps our leadership will be tired of not seeing our team as a factor in March. There's too much exposure and money left on the table when we're not good in men's basketball.

Congrats to the players and Coaches on a good game and good win. I thought we played pretty well until about the 6-7 minute mark and then Porter quit playing offense. This has been my biggest complaint about Moser's coaching and it could have, but didn't, cost him another double digit lead collapse and loss. He is still coaching like there isn't a shot clock. It is clear what he is thinking but he starts way to early for it to work, particularly with the way kids shoot the 3 now. Understand the theory under a minute, or maybe two minutes.

But, I don't want to get to negative after a good win. Hey, the kids and coaches haven't quit. That speaks well of them, and I can support a team that doesn't quit regardless of their record.

I think mosier and some fans, including me, was hoping Davis would be our main scorer. Mosier system always has relied on an inside scorer or passer to open it up for others. Not worked out, but as you mentioned when we do have that inside scorer, we win

I think Davis has been, by far, the biggest bust of the four transfers. We knew who Pack was -- a good/great shooter who would struggle defensively and not be a factor on nights when his shot was off. Brown, for the most part, has done very well. He has had several poor games but overall has been as good as you could hope offensively after making the leap in competition. Reid has not been spectacular and I don't watch him and immediately think "wow, this guy is a future NBA stud, no wonder he was a McDonald's AA," but he is a solid player for a guy playing his first healthy season.

Davis has been a disappointment. Numbers down from last year. Obviously Moser's preseason hype about his defense has proven to be comically inaccurate, which either shows yet again that Moser is clueless when it comes to evaluating his players, or that Moser was just incapable of getting Davis to play with the effort necessary to unlock his potential. And his offense is so streaky. His shot is horrible, and the rest of his game comes and goes. There are times when he is invisible for long stretches, and I don't think he is nearly the athlete Moser and others claimed. I said within the first week or two of the season that contrary to what Moser and Coach and the beat guys were saying, this roster doesn't have as much athleticism as the team two years ago, and I think that has been proven beyond any doubt.
