GAME 5 - OKLAHOMA (2-2) vs Oral Roberts (2-3) 7:00pm CST on SECNETWORK+

But can he play defense?
As Boulder mentioned, he was DPOTY in his previous conference. The SEC is obviously a big step up, but I’d rather have him guarding Oweh in the final seconds of a game, than Brown or Pack.

This team’s ceiling obviously hinges on defense. If the defense can come together, this team can win some games…but if they play like they did against Nebraska..it’s not going to be easy having to outscore teams every night. I’d rather have a team that can score, than a team who can’t. It’s easier to improve on the defensive side than it is to make avg offense players better. I still wish we could have landed one more big. McGriff has been a good addition to K-state.

I don't know -- you would kind of think that early in the year, the defense should be ahead of the offense. Offense is what generally requires more timing and rhythm and continuity. We play man-to-man defense, so it isn't like our guys have had to learn a complicated zone. We have several guys who have good size and athleticism. For guys like that to be as bad as we have been on defense, it makes me think effort/focus/desire are the issues. And, of course, a coach who obviously doesn't do enough to demand it.
