Game day Thread Kansas 11am CST ESPN

We beat them with Reaves not playing well most of the game and Manek being a non-factor. Harkless and Gibson are giving us a huge boost.

Needed this win. The stretch of conference games coming up will be really tough coming up so this was a must win. Hopefully we find a way to pull out 2 or 3 of the next 6 conference games.

Great team win. Everyone contributed. We had 8 more boards (2 more offensive) than the best rebounding team in the conference. The team kept its cool and never let KU get a serious head of steam.

Very proud of the guys.

Downplaying KU doesn't fly. They entered today #9 in the country. Any win over a top 10 team is a huge win.

Lucky guess.

Now onto Texas! This team keeps getting better.

I think mo needs more shots. Just a pure stroke. Austin great all game. Harmon is giving us we or at least I expected a long time ago....

Harkless is better than anyone thought. Including folks at OU.

No way that’s true, Sky. We don’t know how to rebound lol. It is funny that during the game, the only comment anyone on the board made about our rebounding was when Reaves didn’t follow his shot on a corner three.

Our two transfers have been huge. Meanwhile, did anyone notice KU’s stud JUCo today? If not, don’t worry because he hasn’t scored in his last three games.

And your point about KU is a good one. Coming into today, three of their four losses were to top 5 teams, and the other was at OSU. They aren’t great but they also aren’t nearly as down as some want to suggest. This win is a huge resume boost.

It will be curious what Lon does with Manek moving forward. Is he going to use him off the bench for the rest of the season? If so, how will Brady respond to not starting and will he contirbute?

I hope so. OU has finally run a few consistent games together. Don't mess it up Lon!

Bringing Brady off of the bench might be a good move, for the team and for him. He seemed to be more relaxed in today’s game.

Great win! Harkless is going to be a beast. Harmon fantastic. Reaves not good till the last 10.

Does KU have their refs travel with them? Seems like the kind of no calls they get in Lawrence.

Manek getting his minutes at the 5 says so much about the other candidates.

OU's rebound margin appears to have been more than the 8 I cited (that's what Yahoo! Sports had at game's end). During the radio postgame show, Toby said we outrebounded KU by 10 and ESPN.com has us with 11 more rebounds.

We were in the bonus with 9 minutes to go in the second half so they didn't completely swallow their whistles when we were on offense.

Yeah, it was definitely a tale of two halves when it came to officiating. I thought both of Harkless's first two fouls were bogus (the first one was an absurdly bad call) but he managed to hang in there till nearly the end.

I loved our play down the stretch. It was a five-point game at 2:47 mark and KU never got any closer. Most of those final three minutes, the lead was six or more.

I just heard during halftime of the Baylor-oswho broadcast on CBS: In all three of Self's three-game losing streaks at KU, OU has been the team to deal the Jayhawks their third defeat.

Rebounding was the surprise stat for me. I never dreamed OU would finish the game with a 36-25 advantage over KU on the boards. Gotta believe that’s a case of wanting it more than our opponent.

I think he’ll continue to come off the bench. Manek is a team guy.
