As an FYI, vbdad told me about the situation with Dante by PM nearly a week ago. He definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to OU basketball. That's why I said earlier, "when vbdad speaks I listen."

The OUHoops board is fortunate to have several reliable sources who bring solid information here from time to time. I can think of at least five, but won't attempt to name them all for fear I might leave someone out.

Wow! If Thomas isn't eligible this year, Buford has to sit out, Bennett has knee issues from the surgery, Cousins has some lingering effects from getting shot, and Booker has road rash fallout then this team could go from being very deep to having some early depth problems.

Come on you have a Constitutional right to discuss things in the United States. So long as you are not cutting and pasting his articles you are not doing anything wrong. If you mention him, you are actually doing the guy a favor even if he isn't sharp enough to understand that.

The story says that Buford's high school is being investigated by the NCAA to determine if two classes that Buford and some other athletes took qualify for core classes. If they don't, Buford will not be eligible.

Apparently, none of the kids did anything wrong. They simply took classes they were told qualified. This will be very unfortunate for the kids if the NCAA says they are not qualified.

This is a perfect example of why OUinsider is worth the modest fee.

In my opinion, I get $10 a month of enjoyment from OUinsider. I think James Hale provides pretty good information, especially on football. Those guys have to make a living to provide that service. I don't mind paying them a few bucks a month.

I would pay a few bucks a month for this site too. There are not reporters on this site but one person should not be forced to cover all of the expense for our mutual enjoyment.

James is known to try and listen in to conversations of parents and coaches. He used to get caught all the time trying lean and listen in to other people's convos. He used to know Brent very well, but now I am not sure.

I subscribe to both OUinsider and SoonerScoop, and enjoy them both. I like SoonerScoop a little better but OUinsider has had better basketball information lately. I do think the Scoop does a better job of being objective and not always looking at football things thru crimson and cream colored glasses.

Nonsense on it being worth the fee. Very little info in terms of hoops, and I get 1,000x the info from the Football Braniacs page on football for free.

People need to make a living. If you get even a modest amount of enjoyment from a site like OUinsider, $10 a month is very reasonable.

OU has already appealed with the NCAA. Originally they weren't going to let Buford even go to school. We were able to get this changed. I believe he will have to miss fall practices but should be able to start practicing with the team for the second semester. OU is trying to get him to be able to practice the whole time because he did well in school this summer. The NCAA is saying he needs to prove himself for the first semester which OU thinks that he has already done.

The coaches love his talent and he has been a great kid to be around. He is going to be very good whenever he gets a chance to play!

No, but they do get some formal interviews with the coaching staff. For example, RJ Young from SoonerScoop has an update on Trae Young's visit this past weekend and some info on Shake Milton. Eddie Radosevich reported on Bennett undergoing minor knee surgery before it was ever reported here.

James Hale at OU Insider gave a good program update on 9/12. He went into more depth about Buford's situation than we had on here. He also updated members on Booker and Bennett, and then mentioned OU recruit Rashard Odoms was on his official visit last weekend.

Both sites might go 2-3 weeks without any updates, and neither is really active but they do complement the information we have on the Wayman Tisdale Hoops Board. We've got some very knowledgeable members over here and I value their insights (including you). There are a couple of posters that don't post very often that I will take their comments to the bank.

In spite of that, for me it's worth the price to complete the picture to be a member of those 2 pay sites.
