Look at this pic.... Jalen Hill is listed at 6'7'' and Garang looks more than 1 inch taller.

Did this guy get up to 6'9'' or 6'10''? He is listed at 6'8'' on the OU website.

You’re right, he does look taller than 6’ 8”. Harmon is listed at 6’1”, and even if that’s a stretch, Garang appears to be 12” taller. Anyang is really long too.

I’m anxious to see him play. If he can shoot it from deep, as we have been led to believe, he could be a diamond in the rough.

When I watch his video he has a weird, slow looking shot. Not saying it doesn't go in, but his video indicated his strength is putting the ball on the floor... but that is contrary to what I have heard since he got to Norman.

It looks like he barely jumps when he shoots a jumper. Barely comes off the floor.

This video may prove one or both of two things: He’s taller than 6’ 8” and/or he has extremely long arms.

He can stand under the basket and grab a handful of net, which puts him a foot or so below the rim without jumping. This video was in 2017, so it’s also possible he has grown some since then.

I'm 6'1 and can almost touch net standing...I would think him being 6'8 he should be able to ....:dance005:

I think he is around 6’8”. He is very long. I view him as a wing and slasher with mid range shots. Hopefully he is getting better from deep. Jalen is probably 6’6”.

The word entering last season, if I recall correctly, is that he was shooting very well from deep; did you see him then, vbdad? He certainly seems an impressive young man off the court, of strong character and a good student.

On one of his shows, Lon said he was 6'9 and had put on 20 pounds since arriving. Does look taller though. When I have seen him live, he looks taller than Doo or Vic and about the same as Kur. Who knows. I am interested in seeing what he can do. Really don't have any idea.

I think his game will resemble Kevin Durant. Tall, very skinny, but skilled off the dribble for their size and good shooting touch out to the perimeter. Won't rebound a ton but length will cause problems on defense even though not overly a great defender.

With that said, AG WILL NOT be Kevin Durant.:fexas-logo:

He is definitely taller than Doo and Vic. He doesn't have their muscle though. Sky when I went to practice he didn't shoot a bunch of 3's. He was only playing on the wing. No inside time at all and I was impressed with his skill set. He needs more strength. He had already put on 10 pounds and I understand he has added more. He will never be a thick guy though. He reminds me of a Syracuse guy or even Baylor from a couple years ago.

I haven't seen enough of AG to know if he can really shoot from the 3, or better put, whether we would want him to shoot from the 3. But, I did go to a practice that broke into a short scrimmage (during preseason) where he hit 2-3 threes. So, at least he thinks he can shoot from beyond the line.

He was really thin when I saw him -- really thin. And like vbdad said, he only played outside when I saw him. But, if he fills out you would think with his height he could play a manek like stretch 4. I can't wait to see he and Rick. Wouldn't it be nice if, with their unique height and speed, would turn out of be projects that could take us to another level. Not predicting that but we can dream.

Andrei Kirilenko, one of my favorite NBA players of all time, had a body kind of like Garangs.

6'9'' or 6'10''.... super long and gangly... AK47 was 6'9'' 210 coming into the NBA draft, and eventually filled out around 230 pounds as a professional.

Garang has a 7'1'' wingspan, while AK47 had a 7'4'' wingspan.

We keep talking about what style Garang is on offense, but at his size and length he could become an elite defensive player like AK was.

Grain of salt comparing anyone at OU to legit pros, so I am referencing style... like a poor mans AK47. Not that I expect him to be as good as AK47 was.

AK47 had the ability to "light" things up.

Agreed. I specifically watched him in pre-game warm-ups a couple of times....and he was draining 3's consistently. He had a good looking stroke for a 6'9" player. Count me in for being extremely intriqued by what kind of player he ends up being.

I personally see him as a "Amath M'Baye" kind of player when it's all said and done.

everybody bookmark this thread....the one where CMSooner said AG will be the next Kevin Durant.:D
