Gillespie signs another. Recruiting class is now 8 players

Ty Nurse, point guard out of Midland CC committed to Tech today. Averaged 9.2 points and 3.1 assists, was voted team MVP. Played for Canada in the FIBA World Championships. Chose Tech over Nebraska, Creighton, and UMASS.

They have a huge recruiting class, but have a starting 5 already returning for next season.

PG: Javarez Willis- Returning sophomore.
SG: Marshall Henderson- Transfer from Utah.
SF: JaRon Nash- Juco Transfer.
PF: Jaye Crockett: RS Sophomore
C: Robert Lewandowski: Returning senior.

From what I am hearing, Kevin Wagner is the odd man out. I heard the Gillespie staff was really concerned about the talent level of the whole class Knight signed. That seems to be evident as none of the Knight signees asked for releases to get better offers.

Adding too many last minute players, most of which probably are not Big XII caliber.

That doesnt surprise me, the only guys in the class worth anything (that Knight signed) are Gotcher, Tolbert, and Petteway. Gillespie called them the day he got the job. They are the other players with other high major offers, and highly rated in the state.

Easy to get around. Coaches just kick the other kids off before signing the new one.

As long as scholarships are one year deals, there's no way to stop it.
