Good News Tomorrow

Thanks! This is good news.

He'll have to sit out a year unless this NCAA one-year free pass comes through, yes?

Seems to be another avenue to play next year. Regardless of ncaa ruling.

Some other appeal

Nice pickup! Hopefully the NCAA will relax their transfer rules for a year and he can lace them up right away.

I've seen him play a couple of times in person (I'm in Jenks) and I think he i better than what a lot of people give him credit for. I watched BTW play @ Jenks back in Feb, and in pre-game warm-ups...I saw Phipps hit about 15/20 from well behind the 3-pt line. Both he and Bryce Thompson had a warm-up routine where they would take turns shooting the ball while the other guy passed to him...and you could easily tell Phipps could out shoot BT any day of the week. BT is obviously more athletic and can create his shot better than TP, but I really liked TP's game.

Can he play the point in college??? I think he can at times to get them some minutes there if needed, but he'll defintely be more of a pick and pop type of player. Most sites list him at 6'2"...to me he looked a little taller than that...so he has much better size than Clarke or Page from that perspective. He also had a pretty quick release. I thing I liked most about his game was that he played with an attitude!! Talked a little trash and played with a swag...much more than BT, who played with a pretty quiet demeanor..but had a smoothness to his game.

Just my 2 cents on Phipps.

Thanks for the write up.

Umoja Gibson was an underrated prospect on the transfer market. Earned second-team All-Conference USA honors after averaging 14.5 points and shooting 39.4% from 3. Good pickup for Oklahoma.

Very solid pickup! Boomer!!
Didn’t see in thread, but is it also possible that he could classify as a
grad transfer even if it took the summer to get his degree? He will/would have three years of college behind him. Just a thought. No way does he sir a year and
only have 1 year to play. Either a waiver or he gets his degree before
the fall. Kruger and staff must feel really good about him being eligible for ‘20-‘21
season is my guess.

Corey Evans (rivals) said Mo chose OU over Auburn, Arkansas, Creighton, and SMU.

Not bad.

J. Burton (Wichita State) to Tech. I know OU wasn't in the running here at the end, but darn, wanted him to go outside the Big 12.

Mo's fun to watch. thats a great pickup for OU. Gibson's aggressive play offensively will be a major boon for a team missing its' top scorer from last year's shortened season. With early eligibility assumed ...
Gibson
Harmon
Reaves
Manek
Kur

I'm hoping Reaves' shots drop easier this next season and Harmon's effort stays like it was at the end. If so this could be an explosive backcourt.

So he'll have two years of eligibility, regardless of when he does get cleared to play?

So, does this explain JB's decision to transfer?

Great get. Coach any idea on how he’ll be eligible without the new rule?
