Part of me wants to take offense. We have a short bench too, and we actually had to travel for this round. Being tired is no excuse at this stage of the season. If you don't have a bench, it isn't an excuse. It's a weakness.

But, I remind myself. Excuses are for losers. Sweet sixteen, baby!

Gottlieb's one of the best analysts in the business. I didn't take exception to that comment.

Their coach had a similar attitude, 6 scholars and 7 players... Think I'd be filling all my slots

I think they did run out of gas. We wore them down.

And a main reason their bench is short is because Miller kicked 2 guys off the team. Hard to criticize him for that.

We kept going at them and forced their empty tank.

They were only surviving because they were hitting over sixty percent from three. Usually, that doesn't last if you have to keep doing it.

Doug Gottlieb's quote with 14:30 to play in the game...."OU is in BIG trouble."..The score when he said it was 43-40....I finally turned down the sound of the TV and listened to Toby Rowland..Too much Aggie still in Doug to call an OU game.

That's nothing compared to the nonsense OU "fans" were spewing in the game thread.

Gottlieb is one of the best in the business, imo.

His analysis is spot on, he gives props when deserved and is critical when it's deserved.

Listening to Rowland is fine, he does a good job if you want the hometown call.

Exactly down 3 and he basically saying it was over.

The best part was when continually ripped Lon for using his bench .Why would he not rotate and run our starters in the ground? That was a huge advantage against Dayton ,why not use it?
The last five minutes they were gassed and we were fresh , all because Lon really used our depth the last two games.
Lon's use of the bench was the difference in this ball game, and Doug was calling him for doing it.

oh please ...

1. he said we were in big trouble implying the offense was in trouble ... and it was.
2. he said that when subs came in you lose a little something ... and we did. and he made the exact same comment about Dayton.

you guys should learn to be a little more objective vice such a bunch of homers.

Loved the Mark Jackson reference he used when Pierre got that 5 second call.

I'm with the Skyman on this one.

I don't mind constructive criticism but the constant abuse against the coach and the team is over the top.

And none of the so called experts had anything to say such as "great defense to get back on top" or "good ball handling and free throw shooting" down the stretch. Or how about great change up to get the ball down court to Spangler for the dunk that basically put it away. If fact most of the criticizers were absent when the game turned OU's way.

Who called them experts. Doesn't it make sense that those who are not experts will have flawed opinions as compared to those who are experts. Do we live in an environment where if an individual provides an opinion they automatically think of themself as an expert. When was this change instituted?

He said MUTIPLE times Lon made a mistake for subbing so much ,MUTIPLE times .
What team doesn't lose production when they go to the bench, that's why those guys aren't starters.

Everyone needs to learn to take a chill pill. Gottlieb has been very complimentary of the team all year. Not everything needs to be taken as a slight. Enjoy life fellas!

Sweet 16!

Early on, I thought to myself he maybe made a mistake subbing so early, but once again Lon proved me wrong as we were the stronger team down the stretch. We finished the last 7 or 8 minutes playing beautifully on both ends of the court. Having those fresh legs made a difference.
