Don't agree with that decison at all.

Well if you think Trae should have gotten it’s hard to give it to a guy on a team that finished tied for 9th out of 10 teams in the conference standings.
That's fairly disingenuous, considering this was the closest conference race I've ever seen. 9 of the 10 teams in the league finished within 4 games of first place over an 18 game schedule.
Trust me I’m not disagreeing with you - I’m not a fan of Graham. Clearly nobody else who voted sees it that way in terms of the standings so you get a unanimous decision in the end.
Yeah, it's recency bias. Graham played great the last 3 weeks of the season. Trae outplayed him for the first 3 months though. Even though they won the league, that has more to do with the lack of quality teams at the top than anything Graham or Kansas did.
Actually tied for 6th, with a better overall record than the other three

Well we are the 9th seed, likely because of our conference road record, so carry on
Graham is not the best player in the league. Graham did not have the best season in the league. He’s on the best team.
What is the definition of player of the year?
Trae would smoke Graham as National POY, but I tend to agree with Self's take that the conference POY should be predominantly determined by how they played in conference. Trae's play dropped off considerably about half way through conference play. That's not enough to kill his NPOY chances, but made it tough to be CPOY.
FWIW, Trae's conference per game stats are still better than Graham's stats.
Not only should it be based on what they did in conference play only, but defense matters. Graham played defense and Trae didn't. Trae has had a great freshman season but he wasn't better than Graham in the 18 conference games.
