Which of the following freshmen do you think will have the greatest impact on the court for this team in the next 3 years?

Derica
Shaya
Gibbs
Edwards

I would have to think Kellogg will have the best chance. I think the coaches gave Gibbs a Scholarship to fill a need and don't really expect her to develop much. Edwards is really small and I don't think she will ever be more then Jazz was at OU( career back up) which every team needs. Derica has a lot of players on the depth chart in front of her, thought Derica has been pretty impressive in the games I've seen, she may never get the chance or the minutes needed to make an impact. Unless Derica could very well beat out Little, Manning, Carter, Kornet and then Dungee for playing time/ a starting roll but that could be hard.

I think this is about right. I think Kellogg could become a two or three-year starter or at least the first forward off the bench. Derica will have a lot of competition with Williams, Carter, Little, Penzo, and Ortiz competing for time.

Just a guess but I would say the probable starters next year will be:

Gabbi Ortiz
Maddie Manning
Peyton Little
Sharane Campbell
Kaylon Williams

I would think Derica might have the greatest impact over the next 3 years as she can sub at the 2 or 3 and is the best shooter of that group.

Nice line up Norm, but I like

Ortiz
Little
Campbell
Kornet
Williams
to start, but I think it will be hard to keep Manning, Carter, and Louis off the floor by the time conference play starts.

Manning is interesting, she could start and build off that impressive freshman campaign she had, but 2 ACL tears can be hard to come back from.

That's my biggest concern as well. You just never know about the affects of two knee surgeries.

What makes you want to give Kornet a starting spot?

I love the girl, but she has done nothing to earn such an honor in two years here (as of yet).

For me, Kornet is the biggest head scratcher on the team. She didn't shoot very well last year but I think most of us thought this year her shooting would be better. It isn't, it's worse. She plays hard, she rebounds fairly well, pretty good defender, but her shot is really off. It may be time to come to the realization that shooting 3s is not her thing.

Peyton Little will be the biggest game changer next year for OU...Freshmen are nice--but Little has experience and is a true talent--she can score from downtown Ok City. She will replace Vegas nicely. Can Manning come back--if she can this team next year will be better and more talented then this years team.
