I get sick of reading comments like this.

Nobody is bashing Jeff Capel as a man. Nobody is saying Jeff Capel didn't try hard, or that he failed for lack of caring. The ONLY thing I've ever seen Jeff Capel get knocked for is his coaching, and all things that go along with that. And there is plenty of evidence to support this bashing.

Jeff Capel isn't some HS kid. Jeff Capel didn't "donate" his services to OU. He took a JOB at OU, and I, at times, purchased his product. And a vast majority of the time, that product stunk. I feel fine knocking Jeff Capel the coach. Good guy or not. John Blake was a decent enough guy. Doesn't mean I want him anywhere near OU's football program.

Since Blake was recruited by Capel, played for Capel, and went on to be College Basketball National POY under Capel and will be NBA ROY...I'll take what he says about Capel over anyone on this board. Blakes opinion means more to me than Tramels, Carlson, Traber, Al, etc... And since Blake supports the hire of Kruger than thats good enough for me.

Not true at all. " Decent enough" guys do not destroy recruiting records. Not sure why you always compare JC to JB. The two have/had very little in common, yet you make the comparison every chance that you get.:facepalm

Good post. I agree with you on Capel. John Blake was a phony, a jerk and very bad coach though.

That comment is both childish and inaccurate. For the record Capel is 175-109 after nine years,Kruger by contrast was 144-122 after his first 9 years. I am cautiously optimistic that Lon can get us back to the Tubbs-Sampson level but O refuse to bash Capel while praising LK.

That's cool I suppose. Blake Griffin is one of the 2 or 3 most talented guys to ever wear the crimson and cream. He is also 22 years old, so I think he would even admit he still has a lot to learn. I know I made many brash statements at 22 that wouldn't hold a cup of water today. So again, he's a young guy that is good friends with a guy that just got fired - would you expect him to say anything different than he said, regardless of how good of a coach the guy is?
