Raychael Harjo is Orlando bound.

The Moore girls basketball standout announced she’s committed to Central Florida in a tweet posted Tuesday evening.

“I am beyond excited to be committing to the University of Central Florida,” Harjo tweeted. “Thank you to the UCF women’s basketball staff for welcoming me to the UCF family. This is the beginning of a new chapter, go Knights, Charge On!”

The Lions junior picked the Knights, who offered her last week, over the likes of Tulsa, Missouri State and Eastern Michigan.

Harjo helped Moore reach the Class 6A state tournament this past season. The Lions were unable to finish their season, however, with the OSSAA canceling the event amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In what was ultimately the final game of her junior season, she scored 15 points in a 72-46 win over Choctaw to help Moore clinch its first state tournament berth in two decades.

The 6-foot-2 forward earned an all-conference second team selection from the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference for her stellar junior campaign. She has one more season to play in Moore’s dynamic front court alongside fellow rising senior Aaliyah Moore.

Good for her. Not OU level.

I agree! Who wants to join a team at the bottom of the barrel (or one spot away) when you can join a team that is only second to UCONN in their conference, in ORLANDO with coaches that have strong playing and coaching careers? Maybe this kid has a higher goal or "level" in mind. Clearly those programs that offered see potential for her to receive an offer. OU's program is unfortunately at the level of a NAIA program stuck in a decent conference. The difference between Baylor, TX and TCU is night and day...the darkest of nights and the brightest of days I might add. They don't have the right to turn up their nose to anyone while they are stinking up arenas throughout the conference for YEARS. Just a shame!

Who wants to be “OU level” at this point? Who wants to play for a coach that obviously doesn’t care about you until your Senior year of high school? Last but not least, who wants to play for “fans” who stay ready to criticize them? I’ve already made up in my mind that Moore, Jersey, and any other top players are not coming to OU. I’m officially done going to games until we have a coach who cares about putting the best players on the court every game.

After further review...maybe (I hope) we've misinterpreted your post. Maybe (I hope) you are saying that you're happy that she chose UCF because she can develop and succeed more so at UCF than OU...that UCF is the better choice.

If not, no pressure to change your opinion. Your post could be interpreted either way.

saying she’s not good enough for OU.

Ok...then we're back to what Max Power stated. What exactly do you mean by "not good enough"? Does she lack fundamentals, is she lazy or is she not pretty enough and not willing to wear stilettos to church?

Lack of fundamentals, lack of scoring ability, not very athletic in my opinion.

But I get Sherri isnt very good. but offering Harjo doesnt make it better.

The funny thing about Sherri is that she has gotten all 15 scholarships endowed but I can't thing of a time in recent years that she used them all. Every season is filled with injury and a bad lack of depth. Even this year's recruiting, she two coming and two leaving early. I can't think of another once well respected coach has just quit even trying while keeping the elite paycheck. Yes, the decline will continue, Sherri will probably claim sole possession of the Big 12 cellar. It is hard to believe that she may take the program lower than it being shut down.

SC should be forever grateful to the teams of 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, otherwise, she'd still be trying to get those endowments funded. I'm sure the donors never dreamed the program would be where it is today; worse than where SC found it. She was able to get five endowments funded after the twins signed...they had not even suited up yet. Good thing they didn't change their minds! And I wonder if two of the donors had questions when RHammond and JVining transferred.
